We also go to a little mom& pop corner hole in the wall restaurant bottom of the street called “ Tum Thai Food” and just sit outside watching the amazing street life is amazing 👍🇹🇭🙏

My girlfriend used to work at Shangri-La and we always eat at that Tom Yum noodle restaurant when I pick her up after work. Great to see they are still doing well!

I wish I could explain how I feel watching these latest videos, I'm sure others feel the same way. I have a feeling deep in my stomach a mixture of excitement and nostalgia and love, yes love for this beautiful country. It warms my heart to see Bangkok coming back to life again and if I was in a different position I would be there in a heartbeat - my time will come, just gotta be patient. I live in a beautiful part of the world, but quite honestly it is so boring, you just can't get that energy and vibrancy anywhere else in the world. Keep up the good work Chris and Haylee : )

There are few things I enjoy more than sitting by the Chao Phraya and watching the long boats zip by as the city wakes up. For me it is one of the best times of the day.

My first trip to Thailand we stayed there. It was lovely. Went back just before the pandemic and had brunch by the river. As fabulous as I remembered.

i will come january 20 to bangkok and i would stay at my favorite place Anantara riverside i love this side of bangkok and i will come and visiting some condo’s for my future retirement thank you for sharing these great moments with us :)

Between this hotel and the 4 Seasons there is a killer expat bar (Jack's Bar) with nice larb moo and a tiki theme. You can sit direct next to the river, get a cool breeze, watch the boats and when you're bored hop on one and pop to the Icon Mall opposite.

Great to see the monks Chris, It's surprising if you wake up very early you can see a much more traditional side to Thailand that most people never experience. I have stayed at that hotel so brought pack a lovely memory

Chris, we watched the vid and decided to book a night at the Shangri-La on one of our first nights in Thailand. Fellow Canadian here that really enjoys the RWFY content.....we are so looking forward to coming back to the land of smiles in January. Great video! Not seen many videos on KZread in that area, but it’s really nice - stayed Shangri La, Lebua and Chatrium before on that side of the river. Beautiful hotel - and I like the staff in the old style uniforms! You’re right, you really can see old Bangkok around there on the back streets. Great to see the monks too. It’s so very different from Sukhumvit - such a city of extreme contrasts. Prefer the breakfast buffet in Lebua though - the fresh baked croissant there are delicious! :-)

the architecture of the ICONSIAM is very beautiful, the food too, but I prefer the second part of the video, street life, street food, non-glamorous restaurants, normal people, all this made me fall in love with Bangkok

Shangri-la is beautiful. I think back in 2010 they had a killer Italian restaurant in the hotel. I stayed across the river at the Penisula, another super property!

Great deal at Shangri-La.. Nicely done video too... Your love of Thailand shines through in your craft. Very engaging. And if you are in CM I know of a small orphanage for unwed mothers that can probably use your help in Bo Sang, Doi Saket area... My treat for lunch too.

Love the Shangri-la , especially the Krungthep wing, has it's own Pool right on the river and you can see both ways down the river from the balconies. spot on about the Breakfast, If there is a better place to eat it Bangkok I would like to go !!

You might look at the Avani Riverside, just down the river past Asiatique on the same side as Iconsiam. One of my favorite stays in Bangkok. Fantastic rooftop bar, pool and restaurant. Free river shuttle also. We have eaten at Shangri-La, food is good.
