Squeeze lime into Pad Thai, put bean sprout in, and sprinkle dried red chilli a little bit or more to enhance spiciness favor. Eat Pad Thai with fork and spoon and occasionally pick green veggie and chew it. When Pad Thai was promoted by Prime Minister Field Marshall Pibulsongkram during WWII as a national dish, it was supposed to be cheap but delicious. Nowadays the price range can be dirt cheap about US$1 on the street to $10 in 5-star hotel. You can buy one at the price of $1 (35 baht) freshly cooked on local market but with no prawn as prawn is expensive. Pad Thai with prawns can be had on the street at the price around 60-80 baht ($1.5-2.2).
Bangkok's Grand Palace was built in the style of Ayutthaya Grand Palace with a royal temple inside reserved only for the King and relatives to hold Buddhist ceremony. Since the temple is in the Grand Palace there is no monk living in the temple. It is only the functional temple in Thailand that has no monk resides in. Monks from temples nearby are usually invited when the King performs Buddhist ceremony. It is a tradition that any novice who passes the highest Pali Grade 9 language proficiency will be royally patronaged and ordained into monkhood in this Emerald Buddha temple. Pali is the language spoken during the Buddha's era. Buddhist Dharma was originally transmitted by Pali oral tradition (still practiced even today when monks cite Pali sutra every morning and evening) but later transcribed into Pali alphabets, similar to Sanskrit which is the main language of Hinduism. There is a nationwide exam conducted annually to assess Pali proficiency and few novices/monks pass Grade 9 language each year, normally fewer than 10. So you can imagine how hard it is. At the Grand Palace, you can see Garudas (mythical flying deity) grab Nagas (mythical serpent-like deity living underworld). They are sworn mortal enemies in Hindu and Buddhist legends. However, both are God Vishnu's mounts. When travelling, God Vishnu mounts on Garuda. When resting in the sea, God Vishnu lays on bed transformed from Naga's body. Garuda is a sacred deity in Thailand and Indonesia. Thus Indonesia National Airlines is "Garuda" while Thailand's official emblem is Garuda which is affixed in front of official paper and shown on Royal Announcements on Thai TVs. Naga is sacred deity in Thailand and Laos as protector of the Lord Buddha. Temples in the Thailand's North and Laos often feature 2 Nagas at the front leading the steps into the temple. Standalone Naga is featured prominently along Mekong River on both sides of Thailand and Laos as well. Here is the full name of Bangkok. Krungthep Mahanakorn Amorn Rattanakosin Mahintra Yuttaya Mahadilokpop Noparat Burirom Udom Rachnivet Mahasathan Amornpimarn Avartarnsathit Sakkatiya Witsanukamprasit Here is my rough translation. Bangkok Metropolis, the royal capital of Ratanakosin dynasty following Ayutthaya dynasty, a grand palace resided by God King.
Actually there’s a gold line straight to Icon Siam but the boat ride is a good experience.
Hello Woni, I love your Bangkok videos. I especially like your daily schedule of places you visited. Next time I recommend you take the boat ride to Icon Siam at night time. The lit up skyline while on the river is magical and the mall has a night water fountain show in the front. Also, go to the 7th floor Starbucks as they have a beautiful terrace with awesome river and city panoramic views. Cheers!!
Love your videos Woni, remind me all my trips in Asia !!!! Keep going !!!
Many provinces in Thailand are waiting for your visit. The north part is the nature & forest, the South is the beach and sea, East and West are also interesting.
Oh my gosh...bangkok is so amazing. Thanks for this lovely tour

BANGKOK look very beautiful PLACE nice Country Thanks so much for great sharing my friend Greatting from Macau
This was so informative! Thank you for including instructions on how to get to places ie: how to get to ICONSIAM :)
Fried rice with shrimp paste, you should mix all everything together and eat (not separate eat) . You will get all flavour (sweet,sour,spicy and salty). And Hainanese chicken rice for steamed chicken,soybean sauce that brown colour may good for it. Sweet and sour sauce is good for fried chicken. Have a good day and enjoy yummy foods.

You‘d think that being Korean and having experienced Bibimbop, she would have instinctually mixed the fried rice with shrimp paste with all the other ingredients. 😅😅😅

Thailand's Chinese community was created more than 240 years ago when King Rama I built the Grand Palace and relocated the capital from Thonburi to the other side of Chao Phraya River opposite Wat Arun on the land formerly occupied by Chinese immigrants. They were then relocated to the outskirt of the Old City along Chao Phraya River at Charoenkrung Rd and Yaowarat Rd (not yet built). Siam then was known as Venice of the East as canals and Chao Phraya River were the main transport routes. The first road was constructed in the reign of King Rama IV named Charoen Krung Road, running along Chao Phraya river (River of King). Later Yaowarat Road was constructed to link up with Charoen Krung in the reign of King Rama V. Both roads were the first commercial hub of Siam with the first modern buildings built along the two roads, thus began the China Town legend. Originally Charoenkrung Rd and Yaowarat Rd were two-way traffic but they became one-way traffic about 60 years ago. China Town was the center of rice trade in those days as there was/is nearby Chao Phraya River pier bringing rice from provinces into Bangkok. It is no longer the center of rice trade as road/rail transport is highly developed over the years. For at least 60 years, China Town is the center of gold trading. There are about a dozen gold shops on Yaowarat Rd selling bullions and gold ornaments. Daily gold price quote is prescribed by Gold Trade Association in China Town. There are two famous temples in China Town. Temple of the Golden Buddha (Wat Traimit), right behind the main Chinatown gate at the start of Yaorawat Road, boasts the largest solid gold Buddha in the world. ฿40 entry fee. Wat Mangkon Kamalawat (Wat Leng Noei Yi) is the largest and most important Chinese Buddhist temple in Bangkok. It is an emblem of Chinese architecture and the religious heart of the Chinese community living in China Town and other areas of Bangkok. Free entry. For the last decade, Thailand China Town, the largest China Town in the world, is the place to go at night for delicious food/drink. It is arguably the largest open night market in the world. It is estimated that about 15-20% Thai people are of Chinese descents.
Great video !@@

Hii
that Tuk Tuk is a bad tuk tuk, no car allowed in the footpath, this jerk must be reported. And I would say many tuk tuk drive dangerously, even locals don’t usually ride it. It may fascinating tourists, and you can ride for experience, but if you need a lower expenditure, try sky train or subway train.

Should probably have ordered the banana roti from the vendors along the road who struggle to earn a living, not in a luxury mall LOL
@vassanab4243

Most of street vendors in the city like Bangkok are not struggle to earn a living, they earn much more than university graduated who work in office job and pay income tax, the street vendors are richer and never pay income tax.
I loveyou
