How long have you been working as a lube tech? Also, do you feel like the days go by fast?

@@ThreshNote it’s been about 11 months and if we’re busy the day goes by fast it really depends on what’s going on but for the most part I would say yea unless there’s nothing to do

I’m 21 and if you have experience I would try to apply as an apprentice or as lube tech for dealerships but if your situation is similar to me I didn’t have prior experience before going to school so I tried applying to dealerships but they wouldn’t hire me because I didn’t have any experience so I decided to go to school knowing what I know now you could also start at jiffy lube, valvoline, firestone, etc to gain experience and avoid going to school but school is the route I chose and it cost a good bit but it’s a decision I have to live with and ultimately both routes come with pros and cons but I will say most of the main shop techs at my job didn’t go to school hope that helped next video I make I’ll go into detail on this subject stay blessed bro 💪🏾

@@KENDRO1K That sounds about right. Just wondering cause lots of young people in the industry have been flat out lying and saying places like Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky were starting at 30 an hour but had no job postings to prove it. 20 an hour for a guy with schooling ain't too bad I guess. Better than me lol I'm in Southern Indiana, I'm 26, went to trade school in high-school for auto tech and I've only gotten 13 an hour after 4 months now in a scrapyard/garage. I weld, I use the torches, I pull engines and trans off high shelves with the forklift, I pull parts, I work on customer cars, swap engines and transmissions, etc. I get cash and work 50 hours a week flat rate 13 hourly no overtime pay, 650 a week.

@@RejectReality97Yea if they’re entry level and hourly most likely not but I know in my situation we could go flat rate and automatically get a raise it’s just not worth it in my circumstance right now and some main shop guys are making well above 20$ a hour but they’re not hourly they’re flat rate and also depends on the company some just pay more than others
