DAY 35 & 36: Exploring Hidden Guinea-Bissau: Morning Starts and Roadtrip Adventures

Join me as I start my day in the heart of Guinea-Bissau and navigate through the lesser-known charms of this tranquil West African country.
From waking up next to the town square, exploring colonial architecture, solving travel challenges and savouring a unique catfish lasagna at a five-star hotel, it's an adventure filled with unexpected twists.
Along the way, experience the local vibe, meet digital nomads, and endure rough roads while crossing borders. This is a raw and real look at one of the world's least visited nations and the journey towards Guinea-Conakry.

In 2014 I plight that road from Gambia, through sourhern senegal to Bissau Guinea, besides their are lots of check points before you enter san Domingo to Bissau and at this points of check they demand money non stop. Anyway it was a good experience and on my way back their was a rebel attack after the bridge from Binjona and the rebels seized 4 cars all of which where senegaliss number plates. The boarder closes at night and I had to spent the night at Npack very close to ziganchor. The people are friendly but the officers on guard don't dress up properly and used ropes at the check points plus most of them get drunk while on duties..

You are right -Guinea-Bissau was a Portuguese colony from the late 15th century until its independence in 1973. So the Portuguese established their architectural style in the region.
