I like 3rd gen's better, only because of how far back the engine sits in in the 4th gens in the bay and how the firewall and cowl is right there makes it a bit more of a pain in the ass to work on there isn't a whole lot of room compared to the older ones. Other than that they are good.

I bought my 95 3.4 l brand new. I was 19 at the time and couldn't afford the insurance on the Z28 and the 3.8 RS wasn't out yet so I bought the 3.4. There is no other car that looks like a 4th gen Camaro. Back in the late 90's there weren't many after market upgrades available, but now I see there are quite a few. I was thinking about upgrading the suspension and brakes so I can rip around country roads. I think the v6's handle better because they are lighter in the front than the v8s. Today it looks brand new but there is a bolt that stripped out on the transmission.

I found a love for 4th gens 3 years ago when my buddy got rid of his 93 v6 and got a 99 z28 with the T tops. Now if you really know these cars you'll know that the chameleon green was a rare color and that's what it was. He got into an accident and got the front fenders, front bumper and the hood all fiberglass and got a 2 1/2 inch cowl hood scoop. He's right about how it's just modern enough to throw cool shit into but still old enough to be considered "mullet muscle". I like 98+ ones they did, the 93-97 really needed a facelift

@@GnarshredProductions So the limited engine space in the 4th gens is the reason why you like the 3rd gens better? Ok. But the engine that sits in that tight space is wayyy better than that TPI in the 3rd gen.

I had both 4th and 5th gen SS cars, a '98 and a '12, just sold the 2012 and kept the '98. The 4th gens are by far the better car to live with. I never did warm up to the 5th gen and actually came to hate it. The 4th gens are the perfect balance between old muscle car and modern sports car.

Steve Sabino My LT1 was pumping out 296rwhp and 330tq to the wheels, this was with long tubes, cai, electric water pump and tuning. It ran great, I even beat a few C5's at the drag strip. I just decided to build a forged motor and at the time ported ls3 heads were 1300 new. It was the 350cfm heads that made me look into the swap. I was running nitrous on my lt1 and made 430rwhp and 570rwtq spraying. It was a lot of fun. We had a dyno day with a local car club and my car on spray put down more torque than a buddies bolt on n tuned turbo diesel!

They are awesome cars. My only advice to you is to be careful these cars slide out very easily especially in the rain. Take it to an autox and you will learn a ton on how to handle it in a slide. They are great cars with great performance potential! Oh and one other thing. Dont speed over 6mph in the fast lane. Thats where cops shoot radar 99% of the time. I can’t agree more. I have been loving mine since I took possession of it in 1998. Mine was leased to someone who drove it for a year then I bought it. It’s been great to me through all these years. I put 325,000km on it and only went through one clutch, one opti-spark distributor and one water pump. It’s been very good to me and reliable as hell. Mine is black on black leather with T-roofs, a/c (of course) 6 speed stick ( again of course!) and has never been smoked in. I’d love to upgrade to an LS upgrade but with having its history all documented and it being the last V8 iron block I think I’ll just keep it’s vintage and heritage intact. Thanks for your time Rick and your great video. I should be out of this hospital bed next week so I will send you a few pictures. Again, thanks for such an entertaining video. Damn, you sure can drive that thing!

That's a beautiful car! You've done a fine job on it. I have one almost a match to it. But not as pretty. It's a 95 with a LT1, 6 speed, t-tops and all SLP options. I admit I don't know much about f bodies. I bought it this way. I assumed it was a true SS. But I was told they didn't make the SS option available until 96, so I don't know. I love it anyway :) Thanks for sharing your beauty here.

I don't own one(yet). I believe they were the best Camaros aside from the old classics. As you stated, they are the best all-round Camaros to work on and modify and they are super aerodynamic making them perfect dragsters. The Pontiac GTO's are my favorite car, but they aren't as commonly found as these badass cars.

Rick I got a 02 WS6 Trans Am last year. Had to drive from VA all the way to Arkansas for it though. I was considering walbro originally as a fuel setup as well. Then I found out that the 98-02 has a the bucket submerged fuel pump. So I will be going with the racetronix setup instead. I've been a long time fan of fbodies. Diehard Trans Am addict. Hopefully my setup will be done by September at the worst. Keep up the good work.

Andy Frye opinions are like assholes...yours isn't better than anyone else's. 1st, 5th, and 6th gens are the only camaro that the majority of people even know of. It's an easy shape to be attracted to, pleasing to the eye. But it gets a little dull when you see them everywhere, mainly driven by cheerleaders with rich daddies or secretaries looking for some status, or in the case of the first gens, rich grandpas who spend their retirement money paying shops to lsx swap their base 69's with fake ss badges. The new z28 and zl1 are finally drawing the attention of *car* *enthusiasts* to the new gens, not the masses, who are already in love. The 3rd and 4th gens are the rage for most car enthusiasts due to their price and power, while still being attractive to look at. When an average person sees a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th gen, they just see a cool car, not a name. And that's what some of us want.

We live in the middle of Michigan, several nice road courses within an hour and a half of us, one thing that worries me is the fact that after November 8th if the democrats maintain control of congress after we vote, they plan to make auto racing, motocross, all recreational motorsports illegal, totally ban the production of auto parts for cars older than 2008 and continue cutting energy production soaring the cost of energy, creating shortages. @@user-Dr. Thanks for the advice! I haven't found any cool car clubs like you guys have, but when I bought the car, I did find that we have some SCCA chapters in my neck of the woods. I live in Missouri, and have two options-SCCA in Kansas City, and SCCA in Neosho. They both have autocross, and the one in KC also has road racing every so often. I'm jealous that you've got a couple of different road racing courses. Road courses seem like they would be super fun, and a good fit for these cars-more room to stretch than and AutoX course. That being said, I'll probably AutoX a few times. I like that there's no other cars on the course in AutoX, and it seems like it's probably not as hard on the car as road racing. Even though road racing looks like the most fun, I'm scared to break something. Like you said, I actually have a pretty nice car that is currently all-original. I'm fighting that all-original vs. having fun in it battle. Don't get me wrong, I'm going to have fun in it, the question is just how much. You have an LT1? I've been kind of interested in what, if anything, people are doing to get these cars ready for that kind of action. Not to go out there and dominate, just to race and have fun in a safe way. I know any time you race, you're risking parts breaking, but I was wondering if there were any obvious things people do to take care of the cars before getting on the track, especially LS1's. I think they're pretty sturdy motors, but do you have any tips? Thanks, again

Bought it used in 2003, i tossed the stock cat for a flowmaster hi flow convertor then added their american thunder cat back exhaust definitely helped in sound & performance. Then added MSD coil paks with their 8.5mm ignition wires. Being a automatic changed the tranny oil & went with Royal Purple Max ATF 4which i've used in this 'bird since '03 stuff is good. Changed the rear gear oil too also Royal Purple 75W90 oil. Gear ratio is 3.23 factory. Decent gears for a sometimes daily driver. @@CamaroRick yeah that is easy in America ! 😁 But heare i need for example oil for the engine and transmission, and spark plugs. Oil i can get, the manual say Dexron 3 for transmission, for example, but spark plugs they said well you have to bring them to the shop so that they can take a look at them and if they dont have it, at least to get some aftermarket spark plugs that fit, because it has missfires. I hope is just the spark plugs 😁. Other then that, i love the old american muscle ! Even If it's a V6 for now. Only 72.000 miles. When it whould be ready, repaint, wheels, exhaust, i will make a video. PS : You are the first one that reeplayes !

I’ve got a Sunset Orange Metallic 01 SS and I absolutely love my car. I get some hate because it’s a auto but it’s what I like

Nothing wrong with a quick shifting consistent auto. I've done quite a few mild cam and 3600 stall setups that turned out pretty damn quick!
