Day 2 | My Favorite Activities at Acadia National Park

Two amazing days at Maine's Acadia National Park with my oldest daughter. Join us during these two videos as we enjoy three local restaurants, engage in two popular hikes (the Beehive and the Bubbles), ride a lobster boat (Lulu's), hike along the iconic rocky coast, swim at Sand Beach and watch the sunset from atop Cadillac Mountain.

Randy, Great job capturing the sounds of the sea birds and the waves, it feels like I am on the AMERICA’S PARK adventure. Sigh, I am afraid your judgement of lobster size is not going to earn you a job on a Lobster boat! That Bubble Trail is extremely rugged, and more like a rock pile. Great sunset! THANKS FOR TAKING US ALONG, . . . Mike

Just came to Maine this week for the first time. In Bar Harbor right now as I type this. I'm also from Jersey; Maine and Acadia National Park is amazing. We hiked the Beehive trail today, after going out fishing in Southwest Harbor. It was a fishing trip/tour. We saw seals, sun fish, dolphins, fished and caught Mackerel and Pollock. On the way back it in, they pulled up their lobster traps and demonstrated everything. They caught enough lobster to give each person on the boat a lobster for no extra charge. We docked walked into Beal's right next to the dock and they cooked us our lobster for 3 dollars a pound. Best lobster I ever had. This place is unbelievable. Completely worth checking out. Also, great job documenting Acadia. The view from Beehive is indescribable. The picture hardly does it justice.

Hey Pastor, Just came back from Acadia where we climbed the South bubble. Interesting climb up then descended North Bubble and took a wrong turn. Ended up in a parking lot with a sign saying the shuttle does not stop here, please do not attempt to flag us down. Added about 1.5 miles, on the side of the road, to the hike. it was a 15k plus steps day according to the Garmin. Still a fun day. Ended up losing four lbs while on this trip. Who says God doesn't perform miracles !

You guys missed SO much from Acadia! There’s nothing from the quiet side of the island besides Bass Harbor. There is so much more there and has some of the absolute BEST hiking on the island. There are views there that are unparalleled and so much more rarely seen. Not to mention you guys were probably half a mile from a pair of nesting loons at JP. The nest was literally 10 feet off the Jordan Pond trail and the chicks were successfully hatched at the very beginning of August.

Always know its Friday when another Americas parks video lands! Acadia just keeps looking better and better. Hoping to be able to swing this one next summer if I can. That is the plan. Loved the sunset shots and the rain scenes! Fishing another night tournament tomorrow night so I will be shooting a video with my old fishing partner. We haven't fished a tournament together in almost 5 years so it should be fun! Are you going to stick with clips from this trip or finish up Utah next? You might have to do another Touchdown blitz to get caught up again..What are you like 20 clips deep?

Hey brother - enjoy reading your comments! Yeah, think I'll stay with Maine (3 more - kind of little stuff) and then finish up the remaining 5 from Utah. At least that's the plan for now. You're right - have 10 from NM on hold. This is a test of my patience! lol! Enjoy the tournament tomorrow. Looking forward to the video!

HI Rodrigo, thanks for watching the video. Prices are about what you'd expect for the food. Lobster Boat will set you back $35/person. We camped so that saved a lot of $ - Seawall Campground. Admission to the Park is $25/car. Hope that helps!

You will have a great time there! Acadia is fantastic! What I really enjoy about the place is the tremendous diversity of activities for all ages and interests. Your children can enjoy many of the trails that are less intense and more level. Do some research or ask a Ranger when you arrive, but consider the Jordan Pond Trail and some of the many carriage routs. There is also a great trail that runs past Sand Beach and along the rocky shoreline. We had our kids there in 2008 when they were around that age. One of their favorite vacations! Thanks for watching!

Hello. I just found your channel. I love all your video. I am looking to get out and explore more. Just wondering if your prefer to drive to your destinations or fly and do you always camp at your destinations? I am on the east coast. Acadia is an easy drive for us. We are flying to CA in October to visit some national parks. I'd love to go on more adventure but air fare, car rentals and hotels rooms add up fast. Thinking that Driving and camping might be the way to go to lighten up the budget a bit. Just wondering how you do it. Thanks.

Thanks so much, Kat, and great question! Folks have actually suggested I do a video on this! Driving definitely saves money, but you'll loose so much time in the commute to CA and back (we live in NJ). That will take a minimum of 6 days alone straight through. We fly to the Parks beyond the Midwest. Use Southwest Miles - covers most of my airfare. Also to save money it's always camping (versus hotels) and food out of the car (stock up at Walmart) - also hit places like Subway, etc. Basically food is a wash. After the car rental and Park Pass there is not a lot to spend money on. Hope it works out for you guys!

I'll be in Acadia next week and I appreciate the tour. I'm coming into Bar Harbor on a cruise and want to make the most of the few previous hours I have. I'm renting a mountain bike and considering a trip to the top of Cadillac mountain. Of course I would ask, if you had one thing to see, what would it be?

@@AmericasParks Oh that's ok. It's hard to go wrong at Acadia. What a spectacular place! We rented our bikes and rode to the summit of Mt Cadillac. What a climb! Not for the faint of heart. The view was well worth the work. And the ride back down was lots of fun. I recommend the carriage roads for any bikers out there. There are miles of these well-tended roads throughout the park. Most of them are closed to cars. It's a dream for trail and mountain bikers. Tour the Rockefeller Bridges, a network of 16 lovely stone bridges. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to see them all. Acadia was the highlight of my entire cruise.
