20:55. I don’t speak Japanese, but the demeanour of the wrestlers is humble and soft spoken. Imagine an interview with a WWF wrestler from the 80’s or 90’s.

imagine Hulk Hogan winning Wrestlemania, comes over to the interviewer panting and full of rage: "ᴵ ˢᶦᵐᵖˡʸ ᵍᵃᵛᵉ ᶦᵗ ᵐʸ ᵃˡˡ ᵃⁿᵈ ᶦᵐᵖᵒˢᵉᵈ ᵐʸ ʷʳᵉˢᵗˡᶦⁿᵍ ᵗᵒ ᵗʰᵉ ᶠᵘˡˡᵉˢᵗ, ᵇʳᵒᵗʰᵉʳ."

The ritual moves at the beginning are the same as I've seen Polynesian men do, in particular in Hawaii. Even Maori too. Interesting.

It's called "sagari" literally means "hanging". It's the part of their "outfit" tucked in their mawashi. It has a symbolic significance, like "don't touch there" :D In the old times they used to wear bigger aprons even when fighting, but it was in the way, so they decreased to this appearance now. Also it just looks cool. :D Very often it comes out during the fight, so they just pick it up afterwards. kzread.info/dash/bejne/dZ2AmtNqgJCXeMY.html

If you are referencing the ritual before the tournament where the Rikishi with the rope around his waist is in the ring, he is a Yokozuna and the ritual is to open the tournament by inviting good deities to the ring and to cleanse it of evil spirits

there's an english audio feed, but it's tricky to find - usually, if you search for mbovsumo on twitch he's got the english audio feed up on his site - otherwise, nhk world offers summary videos with english commentary and broadcasts them live usually once a week during tournaments. when it isn't cancelled due to coronavirus, i mean www.twitch.tv/mbovosumo www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/en/tv/sumo/
