The breath is a dear friend that you can drop into conversation with anytime, anywhere.
The quality of that conversation will change from moment to moment, day to day, week to week, year to year. The awareness of this ongoing conversation might change your life. It did mine.
Gently dropping your ties to the exterior and taking time for yourself is not selfish.
When you arrive on the mat remember you are there to experience your body, and your breath. You are there to snuggle up to your truth, what feels like home, what feels honest.

    To everyone who is draging this 30 day journey out to what is more like 2 months - it's great that you are still showing up to yourself, even though it's not everyday❤ Having a 3 month old at home somehow let's me feel like I am doing this everyday, when actually I am not. Maybe it's because of the flow between all the videos in the series. Love that!

    I'm with you! I did a couple days of non-30 day plan when i needed it. I did a lot of days where i slept in or did other chores that need done. On day 12 on day 23, but still feeling good about it! Showing up regularly, even if it's not daily, makes a huge difference! Maybe one day I'll make it to daily. If not, I'm still taking time for me!

    Thank you for this, I have a 3 year old, and I'm also doing fitness training at the same time. Plus I'm very early pregnancy too so sometimes I literally have the energy to walk to the loo and back to throw up and that's about it 😂

    Today was the hardest day yet for me, not in terms of the practice being physically challenging, but emotionally. I really didn’t want to come to the mat today, I am feeling all the feelings and spent most of my practice getting distracted and feeling frustrated, but I kept going, I kept trying to arrive at the breath and bring myself back to the present moment. In that dedication I found myself so grateful that even through the hard times I have learnt to show up for myself and within that practice I am forging an even deeper relationship with me. I strive to never abandon myself again, especially when I’m needed most. So I will continue to show up and continue to be here. Thank you for reading yoga family and for being on this journey with me! I hope you have the most magical day and have a wonderful practice. BB x

    The same with me today. I had some upsetting news this week and am finding it very hard to get to the mat. Just remembering how good I aways feel after doing my practice makes me get there! My mind: also wandering almost the whole practice. Had to remember to focus on the breath. I am grateful for this journey with all of you yogis.

    I wonder if you make the videos progressively shorter so that people like me who with gusto on January first will stick it out for long 45 minute session but come Jan 13 when I'm tired, and lazy, and need to drag my ass to the mat can see that it's only 18 minutes and just bite the bullet and do it. Definitely is helping me build the pattern of yoga every damn day! On purpose or not, thanks Adrienne!

    I almost went to bed without doing Day 12. It's been a tough week as I am nursing a broken heart and the end of a 7 year relationship. I'm so glad I showed up. The end had me in tears when Adriene said, may you always see the truth, speak the truth and feel the truth.....WOW! Those words were a gift from the universe and I needed to hear that today. Thank you so much Adriene! I needed to release those tears today, and I am so glad I could do that surrounded by the love and support of this community.

    thank you! "We don't always need that 90min sweat to get connected to our bodies, to listen to our heart song". Me today: went jogging to release emotions, I felt good, listening to the music. Me on the mat after just a few breaths: in tears, realizing that I was holding a big package of lost and sadness, the whole day, instead of just feel those emotions and allow them to be here with me. Maybe I am not a wag today, but after the practice, at least I feel some integrity. See you all on the mat tomorrow!

    I'm doing this challenge in March/April and am not doing it consistently every day but doing it most days. I'm learning to be kind to myself. It's ok to not do them everyday. Just as and when you can. I hope you can all be kind to yourselves too!

    The weird small victories of yoga - for the first time ever I just did the transition from 3-legged-dog to low lunge on the left side without having to grab my ankle! I've always been able to do it on the right side no problem but that left was just a little bit too stiff. So exciting! :)

    WELL DONE! - question - when you are doing the lunge, is your belly on top of the leg or is the leg to the left/right of the torso?

    Me too. I've been working on this for a long time. I had Achilles tightness and pain and this gently has been helping by stretching my calves. I love it.

    Doing this series a second time and today was difficult with my grandmother knocking every two minutes (she has dementia and doesn't heed any Do Not Disturb or "go ask *insert my brother's name here* signs) and my dog wanting to leave my bedroom halfway through, but this gave me a sense of peace amidst the chaos of my household.

    I have a problem with sleeping so I love that she puts there out at 1AM, it gives me the chance to do the video right away if I want, but I can also wait until much later in the day, and knock it out then. I love that they get released so early!

    Because I have problems with my knees I haven't been able to get anywhere near a squat before. Today's huge success was that I could do it, not all the way down, but I was actually doing my body's version. This was such a wonderful surprise.     There are days that we don't feel good. And today is one of these days for me.     To the yoga community, I'm so glad to be in this journey with you. I now understand why many people are loving yoga. ❤️ This is the shortest session so far, but one of the most meaningful sessions I had. Today, I just realized that the gist of my 3 intentions I set for this yoga journey is to drop the emotional and mental baggage that has been with me since last year. This yoga journey that I started 12 days ago was a blessing in disguise as this is the most peaceful state I have been since last year. This is also my first yoga experience, and I’m happy I did it with you, Adrienne.

    today was a lot, I havent been consistent with my practice and today I finallyy got the chance to check in with myself an cry. I still did the yoga, and at the end all my tears flowed out oh gosh im hurting a lot but I really want to thank you for this safe space you have made I love you.

    I have to say, I am a new person! I have suffered this year with PPD, found out I have Hashimotos Thyroidits, felt isolated during quarantine with two little ones, super snappy at my sweet Husband. These 11 days have changed me 100%! It is extremely rare that I actually carve out time for self care. Each night after I put the kids to bed, I stretch and breathe and completely stop thinking of anything. I have more energy, peace, and am my happy self again!! Thank you so much Sweet Adriene!!

    Every day connects differently. At the end when Adriene says “drop your expectations” I smiled, then got chills, then cried. I guess I needed permission to do so.

    Lower expectations --- the key to happiness. Haha! I have said that jokingly before but it is actually kind of true. Obviously, there is a balance and we don't just hang our heads thinking nothing good is going to happen. But there is a peace that comes with being content just as things are, to just stop striving and being upset when things don't go the way we think they ought to go. We can get off that roller coaster of expectation and disappointment. Love and peace

    Thank you Adrienne ❤ I love that feeling of blood flow in head in downward dog pose & when I get straight (no matter how slow 😅) I feel dizzy for a couple of seconds 😂 But after doing 4-5 of these with Adrienne, it feels all flushed and calming.     I'm doing Breath along with four friends and family. We created a little Messenger group so that every day we can report in, encourage one another, and comment on how we found each day of Breath. It's been an amazing experience in these isolated times. While the bigger YWA groups are fine, being accountable to people I already know well is particularly motivating. Already more than once someone messaged that they were just too tired or stressed to do Breath, and the rest of us encouraged them to the point that they found the time, and then posted that they were so thankful for showing up on the mat! We get to laugh together, too--when one of us complained about how they kept blowing snot out during alternate nostril breathing, or another about the fact that we can hear your heartbeat through your mike during the quieter parts of the practice :) This is the next step for me with yoga--one of the friends in this group told me about you at the start of the pandemic, and I've been appreciating your approach and your wonderful videos ever since. Doing Breath live, with others, is helping me get more comfortable, as well as stronger and more flexible, in my own skin and muscle and bone...and spirit! Thank you for always reminding us to listen to our own bodies and not discouraging us with impossible pretzel goals. And thanks for all your thoughtful, generous work, Adriene!

    I love going thru the comments after every session. Day 12 seems different tho. Many of us seems to be unmotivated, worried, stressed or emotional exactly 12 days in. I’ve never felt connected to any kind of community like this. Thank you so much Adriene 🙏🏼

    I just finished reading Breath by James Nestor yestersay and I highly recommend it! It totally changed how breath and how I view breathing. Just wanted to share because of how much I valued it and how perfect it was since this 30 day journey is focused on the breath 😊

    I almost quit because I missed several days and it seemed like an all or nothing proposition--find a way to cram it all in or just give up. Instead I decided to meet everyone where we are, together, today. What a happy coincidence that we were reminded to *drop our expectations*! I dropped my expectation of perfection and settled in for a reviving practice and recommitment to show up on my mat. Thank you Adriene!

    Can't ever thank you enough for this practice. Always had back pain. I have been off exercising during Christmas, back pain was awful, could barely stand up after being seated for a while. Taken your lower back video, I can't believe five days ago was such a wreck. Now I'm full recovered, do pills, no patches, just abs, breath and flexibility.

    I started today's practice thinking about my morning ahead and the stuff I have to deal with...but as I listened to Adriene's words I focused more and more on my breath and my body, then I told myself "you showed up to practice and you're showing up to the things you're doing today, that is enough". Now I'm about to have breakfast before starting my day and I can say I feel good. Thank you Adriene and thank you to all the beautiful people practicing with me!

    This one brought me close to tears. I am a few days behind and that’s ok. Today though, I felt so low, so so low but this evening decided to ‘check in’ I’m so glad I did! It’s like you know just how someone might feel. Adriene, thank you so much, I know you hear this all the time, but, thank you 🙏🏾. This hit my soul today, I was just on the sofa, haven’t eaten and really struggling to even move and now I can face the rest of my day. Thank you.

    This is my sixth year of joining your yoga journey but still there's days where it feels almost impossible to get on the mat. This was one of those. I felt more dedicated than ever to not miss a single day this year, but I'm so sore from a workout yesterday I can barely walk and tired from a full day of moving around my weary body. I was reading the comments and it reminded me that I can show up just as I am. So I did. This practice was the perfect way to drop into where I was. Tired and in pain. I dropped into what felt good, what was nourishing to my heart and body, I simply showed up and then the rest was so gently guided by Adriene and Benji. Just showing up as I am, today, is always enough. And boy am I grateful I did, and that this is available to us all. 🌱

    I have realized one reason (of a million) why I can’t wait to join all of you every single day. This is the only place on social media or actually in my life where everyone is “for” everyone else! The only place it’s all positive and I feel accepted. So thankful❤️😭❤️

    I've done it! I stressed so much about wether to do this before going to work in the office for the first time in a very long time or after work - after work seemed reasonable but if left me feeling uneasy, really wanting to do the yoga. But I was scared it would make my mindset or energy somehow bad (I have a burnout issue so that is always something I need to keep in mind but I also stress unnecessarily much about it xD). But I decided to go with the feeling, learning to trust my intuition more every day. And since it was a slower and gentle video, that fit perfectly. I feel good and at ease now and hope your and my day goes along wonderful, I love you all 😊

    I got my first dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine today so my left arm was a bit sore. I'm so glad I showed up and made it through the practice! 🙏
