Still smiling... love love love it!
I seldom watch videos this long but this one was worth it! I picked up a couple of things to try, and I appreciated this being painted in real time, was easy to follow along sort of looking over your shoulder as you painted.
I am smiling just watching you paint and thinking, "I can DO this"!

I like your style. I just found you; this is my second video. In this one, you are explaining more than the first one I watched (from 1.2020). I commend you on this. You've hit a good stride. Thank you. Great choice on the teal at the end. POP!

Oh, what yellow are you using, am going to invest into some fluid paints👍. You are SUPER talented, kind voice, really nice to listen to & learn. Blessings & thank you!

Everyone overworks their paintings sometimes! I still do it, too. I've gotten a little better at recognizing the signs that I'm doing it. Usually it happens because I'm frustrated with my painting and I start to think more is better. I take few breaks while I'm painting and let things dry. That helps a lot!

I get same issue when to stop, I am beginner.
Thank you for your wonderful tutorials. I love your style! May I ask what is the brand of paint you use? Do you do larger canvases as well?
@ElleByers

I mostly use Golden paints but sometimes Liquitex. I prefer smaller canvases but once in a while I paint larger. I have a large flower painting class on my Skillshare page, www.skillshare.com/user/ellebyers
Hi. This is lovely! I’m just getting started. I’m curious what type of “pastels” you used to draw your shapes. Do you always sketch prior to painting? TIA!
@ElleByers
3 жыл бұрын
Hi! I was using cheap "chalk pastels" that i got on Amazon several years ago. I mostly sketch with HB pencil these days - very lightly so you can't see the pencil lines in the finished painting. I don't always sketch before painting - it depends on how accurate I'm trying to be.

I love your loose style and have seen it on Pinterest. One question, though: why not do the background first? Any particular reason?

No reason! Sometimes I paint it first and sometimes I don't.

Hi! I'm not too picky about brushes. I try to buy something a little nicer than craft brushes but nothing expesive. I have some Princeton, Royal & Langnickle, and Liquitex brushes that I like a lot.

I love it very much and I am also going to try this.but i have a question that what’s the name of the colour you use and why you didn’t use water. And we can use these type of colours in other types of paintings also ???

I use fluid acrylics so you don't have to add water unless you are trying to thin them out. You can use this type of paint on pretty much any surface - canvas, wood, paper... Here are my paint colors and brand: Turquoise - Golden Titanium White - Golden Hansa Yellow Medium - Golden Quinacridone Magenta - Golden Teal - Golden

Hi elle, what is the material that you use to clean the brush and to mix the color? Just start my first...

I just use water to clean my brush and I don't use anything when I mix my colors - just mix the paint. I'm using acrylic paint so I don't need any special mediums.

No, you should use the colors that you like.
You seem to be using fluid acrylic paints. The only fluid acrylics I have are black and white. The rest of my paint is heavy body acrylic. Can't afford to buy a bunch of fluid paint. I don't see you using any water either. I really wish you teach a class using heavy bodied acylic. I think you'd get more views if you did. Thanks.
@ElleByers

You don't need water with fluid acrylics because they are very thin compared to heavy body. I find the heavy body paints don't work as well for me. I prefer my paint to have more flow.
