this game needs a day night cycle. darkness lit by fire torches as villagers check the perimeters, glowing eyes of animals, etc.

Ohhh..WOW!! You are so right. I just remembered how skylines or workers and resources look awesome at night and this game would look amazing at night!! You are so right! Feeling, howling of wolves. Sends chills down my spine! The best advice I heard! :) I will think about making a video what people would like to see in the future update! Maybe Devs will listen?! :)

@@oolykeegaming81 thanks, i look forward to it. i hope the devs will look at your vid... and then perhaps consider adding the day/night cycle. i believe it will add a new profound dimension to the game. btw, i remember reading some article about how it was much much more tougher/lethal for our ancestors trying to survive each night, even after fire-making was discovered. (imagine how it was BEFORE fire-making was discovered. that's another whole new game there.) even today, in remote parts, villagers still face extreme dangers at night.

Great video! I love how many different ways this game can be played. It'll be interesting to see what mods come out. I'm hoping for hunting dogs and tool assignment. A mini map would be cool, too.

Exactly what I'm working on. Suggestions or improvements. Where the game can be improved. Esthetics and functionality. Like no movement of camera on the horizontal axis. Or wild animals running through 100+ people camp 1uite often. Please do share your insights if you have time. :)

@@oolykeegaming81 Pouches and water skins. Made from dry skins that hold food and water. That with maybe a travel work area. Any tasks outside travel area, they grab a pouch and supplies. To counter starvation. And campfires should be a thing, as early humans would have just stopped by the nearest sticks if they were freezing to death.

minimap, it if comes, should have the option to be disabled. the game is kinda cluttered already with all the HUDs and status icons above characters.

@@___Me. You need to do a preemptive attack on them. Every spring go and check out your surroundings and have 3-4 hunters and hunt the predators. It will give you a bit of skin, bones, and meat.

4 adults with wooden spears can easily kill a mammoth or rhino. Just make sure your work load is under 100% or else 3 or God forbid 2 will go out and easily die. Flint spears tho can make fast work especially with dogs. If you start and one is near your start just hunt it before placing gathering locations. 12 hide and 10 food that fast will be a boon to your people. Plus if someone dies its not too late to restart.

For defensive... just place a house on the outside perimetre of your village... when u sound the alarm people gather near the house that is closest from the direction of raiders... so if i have in a part of the village, 6 stables... i put a house near them( on exterior) and if raiders come from that direction i will not loose stables

Walls and gates help keep your ppl safe and get them to the right spot also the raiders will go right for it you dont need to wall off your whole city and just like he said just put them in the places they come

@@oolykeegaming81 I didn't play it till after it was on xbox I remember all tips said no walls half my town and ppl get killed so I put up a gate small wall n platforms and it turn into a kill box

That was my favorite part of the game. Was even planning to make bif fortifications and smaller ones onside but obviously this would be only esthetics at this point. :( But I will get over it. My feelings are scarred but will heal. :D I'm glad you liked the video. :)

@@mrcasey69, I have to make a new video retracting that!! :D If you play on hard difficulty walls are very much needed!!! :D Attackers are more resilient and few extra guard towers and walls are needed. I have to say I am really happy to say that because I love the walls and it would be sad not to build them. SO in short. build walls! On easier difficulty practice and on harder because you will need them.

@@mrcasey69 Definitely do that. I will give my best to make more helpful videos soon. I might even have some today / tomorrow so stay tuned. So couple of advises. Hunt as often as you can but don't go far from the camp, have only 1 skin drier in the beginning even later 2 maximum. Meat driers, 2 were enough for me throughout the game. And hunting tip. If you have enough people hunt the young ones first as it will anger the big ones and they will not run away. They will stay so you can hunt them after the smaller ones. Hope it helps. :)

The feral horse went extinct in my game in the Iron age I beleave

It's all scripted in the scenario .scn file. Nothing goes extinct, the game just stop spawning them in spring. You cant overhunt in this game.

Actually they have migration patterns. If you find a lake where 6ou have a lot of animals they will always come there even if you build your town there.

Depending on number of towers and difficulty. But if you keep up with the population and weapon production definitely much easier.
