I'm 59... I was in New York in 1984 and radio stations were playing the song in heavy rotation! I was lucky to find a 12" single from the legendary dj store Vinyl Mania Records! This song STILL ROCKS! Thanks for the video!

This song was incredible and my other fave was Pumpkin and the All Stars "Here comes that beat". Had a whole routine to it with this kid Dino. Being one black and one white doing some cool stuff in sync, always got the crowd going, but we were nothing next to some of the older crews, but we thought we were the shyte 😂

I am 50 and when I look back at this period in time I believe it was the closest we ever got to being together as a society other than the 60's which no decade in my opinion could surpass. What brought us together you ask? The music, dancing, embracing each other and accepting each other for who we were back then, which some of us are still trying to figure out to this day. I guess all we can do is look back to this period as a teaching moment in time when we could all or some of us at least the ones who enjoyed the music no matter what, rock, jazz, metal, rap, pop, punk,country, polka, and we all liked to move our asses on the dance floor, it was my way of releasing some pressure along with a few other extra curricular activities that were going on behind the scenes if you catch my drift. Finally when I reflect on my youth the one thing I do miss is my youthfulness and innocence because most of the time I went into a lot of situations without any preconceived agenda's or internet we only had each other and the good thing about that is I do see the youth today travel in packs as we did and that kept me and most of my friends out of harms way more than I can ever recall as I look back. Man, though I wish I was 17 again and be able to do the windmill kicks and spinning as we did on cardboard back in the day!!!!! We really didn't know how good we had it until we get older, but at least we were there that's all that counts!!!!!

At 53 my joints are wrecked from all the dance moves in the 80’s but what glorious memories,...and this track never gets old for me, one of my top 5 all time Hip Hop/Electro tracks

I grew up in Brooklyn New York, when these type of songs hit the radios, I worked so hard at 15 yrs old to get my first DJ set. I am still at 40 years later.

These were truly my Glory Days right here! I ran away to New York in 1985 to find my cousins and grandparents on Christmas Eve and, I got to meet the New York City Breakers, they even gave me a record to take back home to Michigan with me taught me a few moves powerful paxtor was something else but Mr wave he was the one that I focused on the most with top rocking but, all of them with due respect had a gift! and I don't believe anyone in this world ever matched up to them! with much due respect to the Rock Steady Crew who are just as hard on the Dance Floor! I love you all because y'all are living legends and a tribute to True b-boys MCs and DJs! This was truly one of the greatest moments in my life! At the age of 14 in 1983 I had already been studying flipping sides on the turntables listening to Grandmaster Flash The Furious Five, Afrika Bambaataa, Soul Sonic Force, Kurtis Blow, Davey d,spoonie gee, schooly d, T La- Rock, the three MCs just to name a few I still have all of my records in mint condition!many crates! So thanks to television in our family stereo system with help for my cousin in Brooklyn Sam the man I had already started b-boying in Pontiac Michigan back in 1983 at 14 years old, everybody used to love when I brought my ghetto Blaster around that thing took 16 D batteries and it had to be at least two and a half feet long it was the biggest one of my mother could find for me dressed up in My Adidas, my silkies with my Kangol and cazals on. And if it wasn't that it was my Pumas with the wide laces, I always had to match! this just brings back really good memories the real deal which pushed me to become a DJ and a damn good one too even at 48 now I'm still pushing and shovin! Much love to my old school music lovers that truly know about the real hip hop culture and where it originated we used to battle with dancing, rapping and DJing!! instead of fighting most of the time but you still had to know how to throw them things when it came down to it! It was like spring and summer then compare to a dark winter which is now!DJ "TERRY.T"!

Not at Braxton Academy, I wish I could have seen how the British hip hop heads rock the house. I’m sure it was a blast. The show I caught was in Oklahoma City - the 1987 “Together Forever” tour with Run DMC , Beastie Boys and Davy DMX with Hurricane(Beasties DJ) as the MC. It was a lot of fun and the crowd was wasted drunk like they were at an Ozzy show lol.

I was born and raised in Virginia but I had several relatives from NYC....I remember going to the Bronx in 84 during the Summer for a family reunion which was actually held at auditorium in Harlem...growing up around that energy and creativity ....Graf Writing on brick walls in the alley, breakdancing in the park , rap battles in the school caferteria, and learning to scratch on the turntables in my bedroom...those experiences made me a part of the culture!

This is how settled our fights.....challenge....lol...talent at it's finest....

I'm 52yrs old now! I remember recording all these new electro hip hop music from my beat box radio in the 80's. I miss the the excitement hype feeling when I hear these new sounds being played.The new music seems to endlessly keep producing like every two weeks.Just love this 80's era.Now im in the Future of Technology world.This 2000-2022 just has no real feel.Anybody can sing now and everyone can become a dj now, there is no real challenge.This is a world of convenience now! Easy Betty crocker inventions now.With camera phones anybody can be come a Hollywood movie producer.No real competition.Somethings has no kick to it to have some real satisfaction.if every body can do the samething as the next person,then where is the kick? of being the only one who can do what others can't,where's the benefits to say I did this and be rewarded for the effort put into the project.

The raw footage of breakdancing is amazing! I'm way too old to do it all again. However, I remember like yesterday doing all of these moves (well almost all of them.) Practiced on a basement floor in my house. Talk about a hard landing! Also a time when if you had enough cardboard you could lay it down and go to town, even on the streets of NYC. When I reflect back on the 80's the music is always first and foremost mentioned, then the dancing, then clothes. Everybody back then took the time to look their very best even though we didn't have a lot of money back then, we had each other mostly and everybody stuck together I don't care if you were white, black, red or alien if you hung out with us you were family!!!!!!!!

This was my life in my teens. Beat Street and Breaking were so influential in my early years. Beat street blew my damn mind!!!! I mix and master Hip Hop these days but man oh man I was a super B-Boy back in the days. I still represent tho! Those were days of all of the elements of Hip Hop. Man, I miss those days and wish for you young ones to see how different and fun it was back then.
