Also the two handed property on a weapon only means you need two hands to make an attack with it, not to wield it. So for a monk with a longsword it's perfectly reasonable within RAW to attack with a two handed weapon and then bonus attack with a unarmed strike since your offhand is only occupied while swinging the sword not while holding it

One of my favorite against-type monks is the Scout from Team Fortress 2. If you think about it he can easily fit the role. He's very mobile, he's got the agility for a high-dex build, he's got a good bit of street smarts (wisdom), his baseball bat can be either a club or a quarterstaff for the purposes of monk weapons. His shotgun can be a reflavored version of the Burning Hands offered by the Way of the Sun Soul's Searing Arc Strike, and his pistol a reflavored version of the subclass's Radiant Sun Bolt.

The only thing you have to worry as a druid is running out of times you can use your beast form before a rest and using the best circle possible(by the way it's pretty much just the circle of the land),and you can also see guides to being a druid on youtube, they actually explain all that you need to know!

  • @Ashley-of6ro

I'm sorry circle of the moon is by far the best druid circle, not circle of the land. Just mechanically on its own, maybe not as good when with a monk but just in general its the best. I know all about druids and every class, thats not the issue for me its just that there's a lot to keep track of. I'm someone who would need to have *every* beast in the game I can change into written down and that's a lot of beasts, so i'd rather just not.

I made a monk with a hermit background who later followed the way of the Sun Soul, and because the Hermit's background feature is that they had some great discovery, my character's discovery was that you could actually talk to the sun, which then taught him how to use his ki to shoot out blasts of light energy. So whenever there was downtime he would take time to just look up at the sky and appear to just talk to himself as he asked the sun what else he could learn how to do.

Referring to Kensei: The only two handed non-heavy weapon is the great club unfortunately. I guess it's geared more towards a dual wield + longbow style. Choose two types of weapons to be your kensei weapons: one melee weapon and one ranged weapon. *Each of these weapons can be any simple or martial weapon that lacks the heavy and special properties.* The longbow is also a valid choice. You gain proficiency with these weapons if you don't already have it. Weapons of the chosen types are monk weapons for you.

Probably after an incident where he handed most of the other boys at the monastery their asses on a silver platter and thought 'Wow! I've never felt so at peace!'

So they'd basically be a god at Stealth who just sneaks up and then gets a bow attack off from behind for Longbow damage plus basic Sneak Attack damage PLUS Kensei shot! And once he learned Extra Attack and Deft Strike, he became a DPS monster in a 2-on-1 situation while the party's Paladin went complete Glass Canon on them on turn 1 and the party's Way of the Open Hand Monk/Cleric tried to knock them down while having some backup healing. YUP, we just had two Monks doing fairly different things and just going for it, and it was awesome!
