James said, if a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, and one of you say unto them, depart in peace, be you warmed and filled; notwithstanding you give them not those things which are needful to the body; what does it profit? Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being alone. Faith without works is dead [ James chapter 2 ] Paul said, though a man may have faith to remove mountains, and have no charity, he is nothing [ 1 Corinthians chapter 13 ] They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate [ Titus 1:16 ] The sheep are going to inherit the kingdom of God, because they loved the brethren with good works [ Matthew 25:31-40 ] The goats are going into the everlasting fire, because they did not loved the brethren with good works [ Matthew 25:41-45 ] And how can these pastors and church members love God, when they don't love one another with good works, or when they don't love their neighbor with good works?

We must put Him before everything and everyone. 🙏🏻Hard to make that a priority in a life of distractions and hurts and worries. The enemy keeps distracting. Keep your eyes upon Jesus, look full, in his wonderful face and the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace.

When I did what pastor Wilkerson preached on I was delivered from multiple mental illnesses. I find I have to spend time with the Lord daily to keep my peace and be open to hearing from the Holy Spirit for any unknown sin and continue to search my heart and actions for behavior that will cut off God’s ear to my prayers. It was a battle to get healthy but God was with me all the way through it

@@kimberlybowling6245 You can. Seek God with all your heart with dedicated time in the word and see if you can read The Awe of God by John Bevere. If I read something in the Bible and I am not experiencing it, then I realize that I am not doing some thing correctly in order for that thing that the Bible is speaking of to be evident in my life. I ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to me what it is I’m lacking and not understanding. God has used preachers on KZread, His word to help me understand better what I need to do to get there. The Bible says that people perish because of lack of knowledge. I believe that. It’s up to us to dedicate ourselves to the Lord and seek him with all our hearts. When we do that he’s going to show up and show us what we need to know, and we will have Him in us And we will overcome these things.

I was also delivered from several mental illnesses. In the same way you described. I started spending quality time with the Lord. Started being diligent about confessing my sins and taking thoughts captive too. ❤️ Thanks for sharing! 🙏❤️🙏

@Rebecca Smith ok. But modern Christians think that by talking about something they've done something. They've become the meme for virtue signaling. "I need to give more, (don't you?)" "I need to really start to care. (Right?)" Do you think Jesus feels better when we say goofy stuff like that? I'm pretty sure Wilkerson's whole point here is, "Don't talk about it. Do it."

Peter was asked by Jesus, do you love me? Then feed my sheep.

I love this true man of God. Back over 20 years ago he prayed over a horrible situation my family was going through and literally the words David Wilkerson prayed happened. He was a true Christian through and through. I pray everyone here gets blessed and encouraged by this message. God bless David Wilkerson's family and I know his son or sons are following in his footsteps of wonderful strong faith.

The battle is real and its spiritual. We need to be in the Word of God and pray to protect the family and our children. It's about the Lord, not our flesh. He's our strength and our shield.

If that were true then there would be nothing to fear! God is not going to protect you from any type of evil, you are led to believe in something that has no proof to substantiate its claim.

I never forgot “The Cross and the Switchblade”. I was about 30 and now I am 86 and can still remember some of it in detail. It made such an impact on me - God used David Wilkerson in such a mighty way in those young boys lives in the bad part of New York!

David Wilkerson is a wonderful man of God. I would point out that it was not David's meditation that made him a man after God's own heart I believe it was David's mercy toward others. I'm disappointed when people bring up David's sin with bethsheba. Then point out David was a man after God's own heart. It was David's mercy that God identifys.

When I was a new Christian, I stumbled across the verse that says to love God is to obey His commandments. I tried as much as possible to obey His statues and commandments. However what I did not know is that love for God is not an emotional thing. I have been fired in the furnace of affliction many many times over decades. Each time when I am fired, I feel that that I love the Lord lesser. And I hv been condemning myself for decades for being unable to love Him emotionally when I was traversing the valley. All those years of guilt and self condemnation. This sermon is really eye opening. After all those tears that I shed, I have become somewhat numb and I couldn’t cry anymore. However just two night ago, I did not feel the excruciating pain in my heart but suddenly I found a teardrop rolling down my cheek. I was stunned. Maybe my heart has developed calluses. How is it I did not feel the teardrop brimming in my eye? Thank you AHAVA for sharing this very precious sermon.

What an eye opener for me. I was so wrong in assuming my love for the Lord. I needed this sermon tonight. God is God.

When I was young, I use to hate King David for what he did. But, by and by I understood. I understood Solomon and what he left for our understanding: Without God all is vanity! Amen. I almost lost a child because a so called, "Pastor Assistant" had chocked her. I almost lost my mind when God showed me when I started walking in disobedience.

I can’t pray to Him either without crying- I am so emotional. To think that my Savior, Creator of all things will actually listens to me! Me! I am nothing - I feel so lowly. But yet I am precious to Jesus and He paid such a great price for me. Everyone that has accepted Him should feel the same way!

I looked in my Bible dictionary (Nelson's Illustrated Bible Dictionary -copyrighted 1986), and it talks about the two different types of love: agape and phileo. Phileo is just general affectionate or impulsive love, but agape love is "the high esteem which God has for His human children and the high regard which they, in turn, should have for Him and other people." It, further on, says that "love is like oil to the wheels of obedience. It enables us to run the way of God's commandments (Ps. 119:32). Without such love, we are as nothing (1 Cor. 13:3). Such Spirit - inspired love never fails, but always flourishes (1 Cor. 13:8), but always flourishes.
