I’ll happily admit i’m very bad at drag racing 😂😂😂 The skyline is 720 at the hubs but has a very tall 1st gear. I imagine with someone with an ounce of skill could get it to go much faster 😅 I’m off to practice now! Thanks for the kind words everyone! ❤

The dude in the skyline had such an awesome attitude. Sometimes I cringe when I see some people losing and how they react. This dude may have lost the race, but he won the show. Great energy!

Was an awesome day, had a great time racing Mike! The car caught me by surprise having never launched it before 😂 either way, would defo be up for bringing the Mini back to race something else if Jamie’s up for it! Thanks for not ripping me to hard 😂

@@R36vw I don't know why anyone would run over 500hp on RWD car especially from 90s. Modern cars with traction control can handle it but 820hp, you are just making the car unreliable and have massive turbo lag for no reason.

The skyline sounded a lot more civilised than I thought it would during the roll race

Most of the engine weight sitting in the rear axles plus it weighs nothing then paired with those wide sticky tires and glorioulsy mated with a close gear ratio trans. Not to mention the amount of dampening/hardness of the suspension setup is perfect for the launch The car overall is dialled so well Hope it gets a 5th gear tho lol.

This was the best episode ever in my book, two decent blokes, no BS or bravado, and a real question both were genuinely uncertain of. Some well intentioned banter and no malice. Loved it.

That was epic!....that’s the fastest mini I’ve seen....loved the way it pulled away from the gtr. Mike was such a joy to watch, pure love for motors, his face seeing the mini pull away was brilliant. Big ups to Jamie for the best series going.😊

would love to see more races like this!! David v. Goliath battles are easily the best type of races to watch.

Man, that Mini is BONKERS! I'm a huge fan of Skylines _and_ Minis, but I just knew that Mini was gonna smoke the Skyline! I just didn't expect it to smoke it by _that much_ lol I've got a mate who used to own a 1275GT Mini, and it wasn't anywhere near as tuned as the Mini in this video, it was pretty much standard, but that thing was _stupidly_ quick at accelerating! He used to smoke everything in that thing! It was funny as hell too, because it certainly wasn't a looker. It was a beat up old thing, so it was a _proper_ sleeper of a car, but the engine was _really_ good! When he accelerated away from me, it looked like he was in fast forward! Had HUGE respect for Minis ever since. Slapping 400BHP in one is the kind of lunacy I applaud!

The driver on the Mini is doing beautiful gear changes, especially 1st to 2nd on the second stand race.

Great video Jamie and props to the skyline driver, great character, humble and very funny. Racing though is not his thing and maybe somebody could have got more out of the skyline, that said regardless the mini was just epic 3.32 seconds 0-60 is immense (that’s close to supercar speeds in a mini, that’s just ridiculous) the car was nearly wheeling down the strip impressive driving to keep it on the tarmac (well at least most of the time😂)
