Lifelong Iowa fan here. Who doesn’t love David T? He’s great for wrestling and a classy, world-class competitor. Hawkeyes have something new to gun for now.

I'm very impressed with his conversation about the improvement of what he want for Oklahoma State wrestling... The great legend John Smith it was an honor and a pleasure to watch the greatness of John Smith and his coaching staff. I really enjoy listening to his goals for the next chapter in Oklahoma State wrestling....

Yeah that was funny 😄. For anyone not sure, he was throwing a question about a plan back at the reporter like Cael once did. Comes off as a bit of dry humor.

He reminds me soooo much of Cael in his responses and outlook.

This is a great day for Oklahoma State Wrestling. I’ve been a fan since 1986 and, (aside from the team and individual titles) this is one of the greatest moments I’ve ever experienced as a fan. I can’t wait for the future. 👏

Hopefully Penn state and Oklahoma State can have a dual meet this coming season.

David has already said more words to the media than Cael has his entire coaching career. He looks very excited to be in this situation, as he should. Looking forward to seeing what he accomplishes with OSU!

Psu fan. This is great for wrestling. As Ben Askren said, we need a team race again.

What a great interview. I don't think there could be a better situation in College Wrestling for this hire. It is going to be awesome watching OSU and Penn St. moving forward. I think these two teams are going to leave everyone else fighting for 3rd. What a great opportunity for Taylor and his staff. I can't wait to see where this goes.

I doubt there are many seniors to be who are there. Following classes are probably more swayable.

Yes, this is the best move for NCAA wrestling to bring more competition and energy to the sport. This is how wrestling continues to evolve to the next level. I'm happy for DT and OSU.

This is so f'ing crazy. I love this move so much by DT and Okie State. This could bring parity back to NCAA wrestling... even if it is between 2 programs.

Yes, I’ve been to Oklahoma quite a bit when I lived in Kansas. If you were to poll 1000 wrestlers and ask if they’d rather live in PA or OK, I’m willing to bet the majority would prefer life in the eastern US.

I doubt he’ll be able to threaten Penn state for a team title for at least another 3 years. Regardless, super excited for this staff!

This affects the teams that THOUGHT they could catch/compete Penn State most. Brands head must be imploding knowing DT WITH NO COACHING EXPERIENCE is making more money than he is, and will be poaching recruits based on a better environment than Iowa. If DT has success there, he will be there until Cael quits at Penn State.

Rumor has it that Kyle Dake is already talking to Iowa State. He wants to win that gold in Paris first. Spread these greats across the country. Get them out of Pennsylvania and let's see some collegiate competition for the first time in 12 years.

Oklahoma is a way better state to raise a fam and to live freely....I'm glad OSU hired him.

Oklahoma State has 34 national team titles. Penn St has the recent success atm but this coach move will put Ok St in a position in the future to add to that number

1. Not kids - Daton Fix is like 45 years old and still hanging around. 2. I’d stop calling Penn State “home” real soon. 3. “Character kids” - I.e. don’t recruit the Ferrari’s.

You do what is best for your own career. No shame about it.

Cael Sanderson did worse. Iowa state forced a legend head coach, Bobby Douglas, out to be able to keep Cael by giving him the headcoach job. Then after 3 years he leaves for Penn state. I don't have any issues with either ones choice.

Great wrestlers do not always make great coaches. How about some respect for John Smith.

This is a great hire for OSU. Loved John Smith, but sometimes it's time to move on and get new blood. Will be fun to watch the evolution of OSU wrestling!
