My universal brother, teacher and idol. A beautiful human being who guided me through some really hard times. Much love.

@@mikrophonie5633 what a nasty comment. . .my comment wasn't meant to be pompous but respectful and warm. Have been a Japan fan since 1981 and I am 56, have battled homelessness, hepatitis through blood transfusion 1973 drug addiction and have managed to remain humble. My social skills aren't great as a result. Thank you for reminding me of that.

@@dasist3321 Sorry but many of his fans are incredibly pretentious and think he is some kind of spiritually enlightened being, and he is anything but. He is not someone anyone should idolize. He is deeply flawed and incredibly selfish and if you've read his brother Steven Jansen's comments over the years, you'd know that.

@@mikrophonie5633 thanks for response. I lost touch with Japan when Tin Drum was released although I did like ghosts and Cantonese boy. I didnt really chime with Dalis Kerr either and lost touch with Bauhaus too. By 1985 I was really into cold/dark wave and loved electro industrial. I had heard a rhumour around this time that there were personality clashes in the band but was too addicted to care about myself let alone anything else. As a detoxed and rehabilitated person now I am catching up on lost time, getting to know you tube and choosing to remember the early years of Japans music. You were right though, my post did sound pompous and should have read Mr. Sylvian as the post was supposed to sound jovial as well as sentmental and familiar. I think as humans.we are all flawed to some degree and he certainly comes across as sincere, eloquent and charming which I suppose everyone would aim to be when interviewed. Still loved the music that helped me though those times and very sad to hear how narcissistic he had become. Richard Barbieri, Mick Karn and Steve Jansen worked together I think which I guess totally supports what you say. What a shame still love them all though and was very sad when Mick Karn passed over. All the best.

@@mikrophonie5633 loved Steve Jansen too as well as Mick Karn. . .Barbieri and Dean. Was squatting back in the day and little access to money to afford anything very much let alone Steve Jansen's biography. I guess as a front man doing what Sylvian did he'd have to be a little narcissistic. I digress. Anyway, thanks for the heads up and all the best of everything.

HIs marriage was breaking up. Hard to live with a control freak such as himself. Also, marrying a flighty member of Prince's entourage was probably not a great idea.

True, barely looks like himself, almost medicated look and disheveled compared to the lustrous haired angular statue he was.
