David Mitchell, Lee Mack And Rob Are Going On Tour!

Ойын-сауық

We’re back! After countless requests, comedian, actor, and writer David Mitchell has joined Rob for a chat at The Comedy Store. They talk about when David first became aware of Rob on Yes Sir I Can Boogie in the 90’s, meeting properly for the first time on Annually Retentive, and their new tour with WILTY co-star Lee Mack, ‘Brydon, Mack & Mitchell Town to Town’. They also reminisce about some of the iconic scenes in David’s award-winning sitcom, Peep Show.

David is a man I admire so much for his rants as I find myself agreeing with so many of them. My favourite was one he did on one of the Big Fat Quizzes (I think), where he correctly called people trying to get you to dance as bullies. He put into words what I'd been thinking. Having been through that nightmare of avoiding someone at a wedding party because of it, I was fully in agreement with him.

I might be the only one here in the Netherlands but I love you guys. I’ve loved you for years in WILTY. It helped me through some bad times. And the pandemic. Your wit and intelligence are such a joy. And Rob and his impressions. Perfect.

I listened to full podcast where they go a bit more in detail about being envious/jealous of Lee Mack's popularity. Rob, Lee Mack is your most viewed interviewee because we love WILTY. Nothing against Lee, but you three make a holy trinity of laughing through good times and bad. He's not above you two. Bob Mortimer is your second most viewed after all, and that's also because of the WILTY laughs. I am sure this video will also reach a similar number of views. WILTY is nothing without David.

The ironic thing is, while I've worshiped at the alter of Lee on WILTY all these years and loved him in every other panel show type appearance (now most recently on Taskmaster) but a few years back when I finally went to check out his proper sitcom, I couldn't stand it. It was like watching something like Two & A Half Men.

This is duo is sheer ecstacy!!! By which I don't mean the drug...which of course, we wouldn't not be untaking... have I the right number of double negatives? Brydon/Mack/Mitchell are the best people in comedy/social commentary today in my humble (but nevertheless, correct) opinion. I wouldn't complain if an Acaster or Davis or Mortimer were additons to this diabolically hilarious cocktail. Regardles, I feel duty bound to say the following - *when are you bringing your show to Australia* ??? We (I) feel cheated! And David, you'll always be my favourite guest on any show 😍 PS can we please have an episode with Rob, David and Lee...what I wouldn't give to be a fly on the wall of one of your 'lovely dinners.'
