I think he eventually left to play with Santana. (Edit: sorry, it was the drummer who played on "Very Greasy" who left for Santana.)

@@mikeaustin4138 , the drummer here is Ian Wallace. That's Walfredo "Wally " Reyes Jr you're referring to, who did indeed play with Santana later, and then with Chicago. Not to be confused with Wally Ingram who also played with David.

Finally! 30 years after David Lindley played this fantastic version of Mercury Blues live at the German Rockpalast, Prraudliii prriisentedd by Albrecht Metzger, it is on KZread. Until now I only have an old cassette with this version, but never saw the video again. Still, cruising in a Mercury '49 has remained a dream... GOOD ONYA!

I remember this concert. We were sitting in Freiburg West Germany at the "Rote Punkt" and saw this concert live (on screen TV). The joint was cooking until way into the early hours of the morning. Best place and time ever. Rockpalast rocks!!

Just bought a 69 Mercury Marquis convertible. As soon as I replace the original AM radio, ill be cruising to this....

Tired, bored,zombied even? IMPOSSIBLE! NO WAY! Time after time, they just lapped it up. Rock minimalism came of age that night. Glass, Cage, Riley, Reich moved over just a tiny bit. The rocket was launched, the controls were set for Mercury orbit , round and round, no end in sight. ENCORE? NO THANKS! . over and out.
