RIP David Lindley! Remember getting told to sit down when you made us want to dance at the Golden Bear way back in the 1980's Counted 16 shows from my ticket stub jar, that I attended. Lindley is the slide guitar king; not to mention the master of an incredible collection of stringed instruments! Thanks for rocking all those years; and all those songs; and concerts!

@@timothylewis2450 That happened in the '90s (year?) when they played a benefit at the Arlington Theatre in Santa Barbara for a progressive candidate for the 5-member governing board overseeing that county. Kenny Loggins also played a set. It was a memorable show. And I was lucky to be in SB for a conference for work that week and got in to see it! (and ran into the Mullicans there, Ry's neighbors and old family friends)

I was lucky enoough to be at this show, my first David Lindley live experience. Mind blowing. I recall David talking about them bringing string instruments from the California dryness to the humidity of New Orleans and watching them warp and become unusable. Didn't stop them from playing one helluva show in the Louisiana rain. RIP David...

Sometimes called a Mandocaster. I believe technically it’s an octave guitar. Full props to Lindley too on that bouzouki. There’s nothing with strings they can’t play.

I found a short video about this instrument. He goes into great detail about the setup and shortcomings of the instrument, but it sounds so sweet. kzread.info/dash/bejne/eYFtpcONYbXamaQ.html

@@RogerSteinbrinkh2oBrother True, I miss that dude, he would've come up with a hoodoo tune. I could see Bobby Lounge writing a funny piece about it. Allen Toussaint would have a brilliant song about it. Spencer Bohren could've written a "Long Black Line" equivalent of the pandemic. The deceased Nevilles and their living brothers could really funkify the virus. Dr. John would come up with something that would desitively knock me out. And Paul Barrierre, Lowell George, Ritchie Hayward, and the rest of Little Feat woulld slay all of us coming up with the "Wuhan Boogie."

I hope this Covid-19 blow outs and Mollusk Surf Shop in Venice Beach (California) once again starts doing live shows. I'd love to see Ry or David there. Or at McCabe's Guitar shop in nearby Santa Monica.
