He is so intelligent. All his music comes from his soul. Every song every note is from his heart and soul. Every song he has written you can tell what he was going thru at that time. Who he wrote the song about. His guitar solos come from the same place. You feel his happiness and sadness and etc. are the same way. Its like he communicates thru his music. That is unreal. Its a gift indeed.

What happened? Well, it is pretty obvious. He aged, like we all do. He got old and he could not care less about spending money to fool father time, which I find refreshing. Not to mention, he is one of the best guitarists in the history of rock and roll music and extremely influential.

LOVE this, thank you! The morphing is fantastic, from boy, to young man, to hawk eyed intense artist, to kindly looking older gentleman. Just fantastic brother! One of the most beautiful, heart breakingly poignant things I've ever seen is here on youtube. David & Rick Wright jamming in his barn studio with his daughter recording, shortly before Ricks' death. Even just free styling they made it sound like something they'd played a thousand times before with Rick seamlessly supporting David wherever he went; and the BEST moment was when the two old masters looked at one another locking eyes. Two masters of their craft, old comrades and brothers in arms sharing their mutual "knowing". I've read that Richard Wright was intensely self-contained & hard to know and that David Gilmour is one of the few people to have really gotten close, you can see their mutual love in that Barn Studio clip. Again THANK YOU SIR for THIS great gift!

David Gilmour is a Master guitar player. When I listen to David Gilmore play I just go to a very ethereal plane and experience every note and nuance in my soul. If I should ever attempt to learn to play, I would try to learn from his music.

A very clever, and well-constructed video, with the morphing faces, mixed music/quotes, and captions. Gilmour was extraordinarily pretty when young, and now tends to look very grumpy when playing, but comes over as a really, wise charmer!

The greatest thrill of my life time was when I got to meet David Gilmour in person! It was in May of 1984 when he was giving his 'About Face' concert at Shea's Buffalo Theatre in Buffalo, New York! 5 minutes before the concert finished (which was the greatest concert I've ever been to), I went outside around the back of the theatre by the stage exit door. He finally came out to board the bus and I got to shake his hand and chat with him for a little bit! Then I followed the bus 2 blocks up and got to meet him again getting off of the bus, going into his hotel! I will never forget that night!

In the Summer of 1973, I saw Pink Floyd at the Hec Ed Pavilion at the U. of Washington. The concert was in Quadraphonic sound. They played for an hour and then said, "We're going to take a break, rearrange the stage and bring in a few extra musicians to play a few tunes from our next album that comes out next month". After about 20 minutes, they came out and played, 'Dark Side of the Moon' .... all the way thru ..... best concert that I ever saw ... the Strawberry Barrel was good too.
