If there were a time machine that allowed me to travel back to the 80s, i could revisit the nostalgic moments of my childhood, reuniting with my neighbor and childhood friends. I could once again enjoy swimming in the river that now exists within a bustling city, reliving the cherished days of the past. 😢😢😢

I was 21, now 60. Just finished college, like they did in the movie. Every time I hear this or the instrumental I tear up. Maybe just me, but even then, I felt the 80’s were going to be the best decade we would see in our lifetime.

@@keylo5375 The flip side of nostalgia is saying this era sucked either in it or shortly thereafter. That kind of sets up nostalgia while the truth lies somewhere in between. Music though now has been awful for 2 decades...at least for me.

I relistened to this , it’s a masterpiece. The lyrics season a melody that, by itself, is stunningly beautiful. I cried when the words hit home. Aren’t we all the best version of ourselves “for just a moment?”

I was 10 when this movie came out and didn't fully understand the depth of it given my age. I'm 49 now... and I totally got it in my 20s as I was experiencing this for myself. I watch the movie often as I have it on DVD. One of my favorites. Never will there be movies like the ones from the 1980s. I'm glad I was around for it.

Only reason I knew there was a version with lyrics was that I got the soundtrack as a birthday present in 1986.

Some of the lines gave me chills

This brings back that magical time at that young age, close groups of friends and finding first love while young and carefree, life was exciting, everything was an adventure; it's fleeting and gone in a short time, but it was so intense the memories will never die - this music brings that whole moment in time back to life.

Without this soundtrack this movie was unwatchable

have to agree. i just realized this when i finally watched the entire movie. the OST and this song made the movie memorable. this would've been a forgettable movie without the song and OST.
