lp.constantcontactpages.com/s... David Cassidy Of the Partridge Family Dead at 67
The singer and actor died of multiple organ failure earlier today at a Florida hospital.
From September, 1970, until March, 1974 we knew him as Keith Partridge, the eldest son in the TV show The Partridge Family along with his real-life step-mom Shirley Jones. With the Partridge Family he had hits like “I Think I Love You” which reached #1 on the Billboard Charts in 1970. He also reached the Top 40 with "Doesn't Somebody Want to Be Wanted,""I'll Meet You Halfway,""I Woke Up in Love This Morning,""It's One of Those Nights (Yes Love)" and "Breaking Up Is Hard to Do." all were from the early 70's. As a solo artist he had hits with “Cherish” in 1971, “How Can I be Sure” the following year among others. He peaked in the early 70's where he played to two sellout crowds of 56,000 at the Houston Astrodome in Texas.
Cassidy also appeared on “Ironside, Adam-12, Bonanza, Marcus Welby M.D., The Mod Squad, The F.B.I, Police Story” where he was nominate for an Emmy Award, Love Boat, Fantasy Island, Blossom, Malcolm in the Middle among others
His parents were actors Jack Cassidy who died in 1976 and Evelyn Ward who passed 2012. He was married three times, His first wife was actress Kay Lenz, He was also married to horse breeder Meryl Tanz, and he divorced his third wife just last year Sue Shifrin who wrote songs for Tina Turner, Heart, Al Jarreau and Michael Jackson among others.
Cassidy's life had been on the decline for quite a few years. He filed for bankruptcy and had a few DUI's.
Last February Cassidy told People magazine was battling dementia and couldn't remember his own lyrics. He's also had problems with substance abuse. - by John Beaudin

It's so annoying when people refer to classic t.v. show as 'corny'. One man's trash is another man treasure. These shows have been popular with fans for decades.

I am the same age as Danny Bonaduce. My slightly older sister was a rabid David Cassidy fan with posters all over her walls and all his records. We watched all of the Partridge Family episodes. Those were special times. It's hard to believe that he's gone.

David Cassidy had a golden voice which in 2017 is really a rare thing to find. I remember putting posters all over my walls when I was about 8yrs old he was 8yrs older than me and I had my walls covered in posters like I had done with alot of singers posters back then. He definitely was a heart throb and it's wonderful he has as talented children as himself. To David's family I'm glad his suffering is over and that you will keep him close to you in your hearts. He will always watch over you even though he's not of this world anymore. I never ever missed the partridge family show he sang on and acted I never missed the reruns and if I was old enough I probably wouldn't have missed any concerts either when they came to the city I resided in. I always spent my allowance just to get the posters out of the magazines when I was a kid. He had a wonderful smile and eyes that would some how draw you in and a wonderful personality. I send my thankyou to his family's for letting our generation as well as thank David for giving of his time to share the gift of his voice with the world. May he now rest in peace. He will be very much missed.

I was only 7 years old when The Partridge Family came to TV. Living in Australia, I was infatuated with David and use to sing the many songs, he sang. I have developed many tears today whilst listening to songs like Cherish & I think I love you. Thank you David for the wonderful memories, I hope the loved ones left behind, are aware of how many fans in Australia David had, I am one of them. Please take solace knowing we are all thinking of you and are in our prayers. May his life be continued through his love for you and the hearing of his wonderful songs and more importantly his voice...so mesmerizing. Lots of love from Jane xxxx

This saddens me to the core. David was one of my first loves. I was lucky enough to see him live at SUMMERFEST in Milwaukee back in the early 70s. I was also lucky enough to have had him wear a shirt that I made for him on an episode of The Partridge Family. I loved his voice as well as his acting. I pray he finds the peace now that he couldn't find on earth. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. God Speed David. You join the other David's Bowie and Jones. 😭💔🎤🎸🎥💝😖

There are a lot of broken hearts in the world today, including mine. The news of David Cassidy's death is everywhere, and everyone who loves him is mourning the loss of a beautiful human being. I cried more than once when I heard the news last night, and I know I'll cry again. David Cassidy has been one of my favorite people since my childhood in the 70's (I was born in 1968, so I missed out on Cassidymania back in the early 70's. I was simply too young. But I became a fan later in the mid-70's when I began grade school and reruns of The Partridge Family were being shown on weekday afternoons.). I even had a Gray Tabby polydactyl cat named Cassidy, who was named after David. My Mom and I found her in October of 2001 as a stray kitten. Cassidy passed away in May of 2014, and is terribly missed. I have so many fond memories of being a fan of David Cassidy. I always thought he was so cute with his beautiful, sparkling eyes, his glowing smile, and his long, feathery hair. I also love his adorable, infectious laugh and his cheerful, vibrant personality. And his voice! Ooh, that sexy voice! Just seeing David on TV cheers me up whenever I'm having a bad day. When Nick At Night began airing reruns of The Partridge Family in 1993, I fell in love all over again. I listen to more country music than anything, (Hello George Strait, Alan Jackson, Kenny Rogers and Blake Shelton!) but David's music is pretty special to me, too. I saw his EFX show in Las Vegas in 1996, and I've seen him in concert twice. The first time I saw him in concert, he sang "No Bridge I Wouldn't Cross," and he looked right at me and took my hand in his! The moment lasted only a few seconds, but it's a moment I'll treasure forever. The world feels like a sad and empty place without David Cassidy. The past 67 years that he was here with us have made the world a better and brighter place. I just wish I had met David. I know when my time comes to go to Heaven, I'll meet him there. Thank you David Cassidy for bringing so much joy into so many people's lives, including mine. Thank you for being you. My heart goes out to your family and friends during this sad, difficult time. The world won't be the same without you, but I know you're up in Heaven singing with the angels. Rest in peace. You will always be in the hearts of those who love you.

Sad news. Another life ended too short. Loved the old Partridge show.

Not for nothin but I think that every news medium needs to have alot more respect in the way they announce people passing away! One more thing......only speak of the good! I'll tell ya right now......we have all made mistakes in our lives.....every one. FYI......you forgot to mention that David Cassidy had the BIGGEST FAN BASE in the world. From now on......only report the good!
