I saw an enquirer or one of those magazines where he was getting a divorce and his wife and son had moved to the coast. It also said their house was up for sale in Florida and it showed the address. I googled the zip and just wrote a handwritten note wishing him the best and said if he ever needed to talk somebody to call me. I put my number on it. I can honestly say I never expected to hear from him. To my surprise, about 2 weeks later, I got a call from an unlisted number I answered . He didn't have to say three words before I realized it was him and I was speechless. I recognize his voice immediately. He said you sent me a note, and I was like David Cassidy? We talked for about 20 minutes. That is something I will always treasure. ❤️

David, and a number of other artists in the '70s, inspired my own career as a cocktail pianist/performer/songwriter. As a musician, when i hear David's songs (Wow, Wes Farrell! Dynamite songwriter!) throughout all these years, and i still marvel at not only his voice, but also the top-notch compositions and arrangements. Just listening to him sing "Cherish", one of my favorite songs of all time, and the new and unimproved arrangement for his live performance of it is absolutely awful! Ahhh...but i still can hear his first cover of that great tune here on KZread, thankfully. In the meantime, David looks great, looks relaxed, and i sure do miss his presence in this lonely world. The sun is not as bright.

Wow,what a wonderful interview,David looked Incredible,he was 41 when it was filmed,he looked at least 10 years younger! Love the rapport he had with Danny, and Dave Madden was still being a funny guy! It was lovely to watch David, just sitting there, being so natural, answering the questions he was asked, and being very honest in his replies. It was 45 minutes of pure joy, watching this beautiful man, speaking and singing, loved when he sang to Beau, you could see the tears in his eyes. But have to say, what I found confusing is that at 39.54 they showed a family picture of David & his brothers, with David's hair shorter, and pushed back, but David didn't, wear it that way until a good few years after that show was made,so did they have a time machine on the show?! Nevertheless,a fantastic video, thanks to whoever made it.

The picture at 37:53 looks like David was 40. That's when he first got his cut short. Up to that point he still wore it in a feather. On the Show here with Geraldo, his hair has grown a bit as he is 41. Sorry no time machine yet. At least feathered hair is making a comeback! 😁✌❤

I adored this man when I was a young girl. I was even lucky enough to see him at The CNE in Toronto when I was about 8 years old!! I know this will not be a popular comment, but during the time of this interview, I don't believe David was "authentic." I had the opportunity to meet him in 1990 when he was in Toronto promoting a new album. I was "geeky," and he was not the kindest to me as I did not look like a model :(. I just think he wanted to change his image, turning on the swagger. He was too focussed on his persona, and I think it was born out of extreme insecurity. I would also like to that the songs written for The Partridge Family, were actually beautifully crafted songs, and David's voice was like silk!!!

I agree. But he was exploited and cheated by his management. I read both his memoirs, Interesting life. His relationship with his dad was sad.

BLACKLEYLAD1 Elvis was still breaking records in Vegas, sold out records in Madison Square Garden in ‘72 - even after DC played there months before.. Elvis has world satellite concert viewed by over a billion ppl in ‘73. Vocals during that concert .. pitch, octaves, tone.. unmatched. Nonetheless DC definitely cool, sexy and great singer in his own right.

Your comment was open, raw and real just like all the Interviews I've been of David Cassidy is these past few weeks that I've begun revisiting his music. God i miss him so much, i've been crying through this whole video. xoxo David i love you forever!

You can't make someone happy. That has to come from inside. You have to decide for yourself if you want to be happy. When you're depressed and hurting inside from Childhood wounds that were never dealt with, there's nothing a spouse can do to fix that, nor should they be expected to. Each person must find it within to get over our hurts and choose to be happy we have a life at all regardless of how that life is. David couldn't seem to do that. He was so ungrateful for Keith Partridge for a long time. He was devastated about his Dad, he never said goodbye. I read that they were just starting to get along. Jack rejected David because he was jealous of his Sons' success. Jack was so drunk he dropped his cigarette and passed out and lit himself and his home on fire. I can't imagine David ever got over that. So many of us would've given our(heart & Soul) lives to David but I don't think any of us could've fixed him. He had to do it himself.
