David Brown 1212 - Hydraulic Filter / Oil

Replacing the hydraulic / transmission filter on my 1976 David Brown / Case 1212, along with a fluid swap. On these models, the hydraulic filter is very hard to find. I got mine from an eBay seller, a new old stock part. Original part # K929095.
This filter is different from other David Brown models, such as the 990 series. This filter is a fair bit taller.
Some good information for anyone servicing or maintaining one of these older tractors. There is not a lot of information on these tractors.

It’s a shame that your not able to find any DB filters were you live, All the DB were manufactured in England with main manufacturer CASE, The Case 450A crawler loader both engines were compatible with case & DB engines. which were originally manufactured for a 990/995 DB tractor which we used for agriculture contracting, Extremely well explained for anyone who’s looking to maintain there equipment properly👍🇬🇧🇮🇪.

It's too bad, because these are great tractors. The parts availability will deter most people from purchasing these tractors, leaving most to be thrown away or left for dead. Obsolete by todays standard. Thanks.
A tarp over the shifter will help with water getting in. The fill plug needs some thread sealer on it too because that’s a good place for the water to get into.
I've had a ton of issues with mine. I changed my oil 3 times now, cleaned my filter extensively twice, and my pump is still starving for fluid and only works for about 30 seconds at a time and then starves for a couple minutes before kicking back in. I cleaned those stupid little valves too. Thinking at this point I either need to remove my filter completely or buy a new pump. I wish mine were as simple ad yours was.

You have a David Brown 1212 as well? What is not working? Hydraulic functions, or the transmission ranges?
The threads on that 1212 should virtually all be Unified not metric.

Interesting...thanks. I really never stopped to check the thread pitches...just found the metric wrenches and sockets fit tighter...
