It still doesn't feel like Bowie's is gone. He was so laid back and chill here. As if he'd have a great conversation with a group of people. Such an exquisite personality.

Something that I don't understand about comments like these is that they don't take into account the fact that he'd dropped out of the public eye 12 years before his death. He stopped doing interviews in 2004. For those of us who followed him, that was massive. Were you watching these old KZread clips and thinking they were new?

@@monotrious This looks like right around or a little before he filmed Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence. He did a little piece with Bing Crosby earlier in I think 81 or 82, but looks a lot younger than he did a year or so later in Merry Christmas Mr.Lawrence. So I think this appearence is around 81-83. So when you say he was more comfortable than when he was younger< I'm guessing you mean his Ziggy days? Or even before that when he was interviewed for his fashion along with a bunch of other young guys. He wasn't a singer yet, I think, He was a bit stiff. But not that bad.

One of the nicest interviews with Bowie ever. Ross really put Bowie at ease and brought out his fun personality. Ross has the balls to take the mick out of Bowie in a fun way and I think Bowie appreciates that. I think this is Bowie as close to the real guy as we may have ever seen. Bliss. Thank you Rossie!

Back in about 1977 a friend invited me to go see David Bowie with her. I declined for some reason and have sooo regretted it ever since. First, the friend died a couple of years later in what may have been a suicide. Second, I came to greatly appreciate and even love David Bowie. But he toured rarely after that. So yep, you youngsters don't let opportunities like that pass out of reach! Shoot, I don't even know if concerts are a thing of the past now. But for a too short amount of time we could go see our favorite music makers among thousands of like minded people and that collective vibration built of awe, honor, love, and rock n roll would lift us higher than any drug or airplane ever could. Let's pray they come back.

Sir David was nothing other than a true Prophet sent from God for an amazingly complex, subtle, multi-faceted task of "great healing".... Sir David made a Life message from which ALL of Humanity has been a blessed recipient over several decades. An amazing Man, nay a "Saint"! whom was able to conquer what would normally be sophisticated challenges with an other worldly ease, charm and wit. The Man was a truly delightful enigma. Sir David, wins my Lifetime Achievement Award in an area to which few have ever ascended. The surprisingly difficult task of just "How the fuck to KEEP IT REAL" in an increasingly confused, sick and emotionally fraudulent World, Bowie was a Master. I loved his 'neighbourly chats"... Can anyone think of anyone else of comparable status that so warmly, comprehensively and transparently opened their personal Lives and thoughts to the World... I cant think of any! Sir David, you were simply the Best. Deepest thanks for your entire Life contribution. God love's you...I Love You! Rest in Peace Sir David for All Eternity. I take comfort in the fact you are firmly ensconced in Heaven and your Spirit surely continue's your Godly work for the betterment of Existence and the free expression of "Love as Creativity." ...there really is no other way to describe the Phenomenon that was his incredibly, rich and varied Life. A stunning achievement! God Bless.

It's funny that after he's been talking to someone with a thick London accent like Jonathan Ross, Bowie's own natural South London accent starts to creep back in. If you don't believe me watch him when he's interviewed on US television and he speaks in a posher more clipped voice than he does here. I guess despite living in the US for many years he never forgot his roots and didn't mind a bit of banter with people, more so once he's left his excesses of the past behind and entered middle age. But what's really annoying me is how good he looks for his age and that amazing hair. Everyone I know who had great hair like that lost it once they got to 40!

Anyway, what I really wanted to say was that I love how David loves and interacts with his fans.....the way he looks at them during the show, and reacts to them - it just goes on to show how much love he had for his fans. Yes, only don't compare the best from decades ago to average acts of the present day. A kid from today could find the best band now and say look how great music is now compared to the 80s by pointing to Journey and Rick Springfield.

It's a fact that manufactured bands have no talent compared to what music was like in the 60s 70s and 80s and some 90s more indie music. The x factor etc took away from real talent and just made crap most of what is around is mind numbing shite.

While I obviously know he is no longer with us and I find it hard to look at those last pictures I know I am blessed to have been a teen in the 1970’s I started buying records in summer 1972 (Starman, All The Young Dudes & Ziggy) & my first ever gig was Bowie at Hammersmith July 1973. The kids of the 50’s had the young Elvis, the 60’s had The Beatles/Stones and we had Bowie but the difference was the others grew old (be honest who goes to a Stones gig now to hear new songs?) with Bowie stuff off those last 2 albums were as good as stuff from the 70’s, 80’s 90’s etc of course we wanted to hear songs from Ziggy and Station to Station etc but we also wouldn’t have mined the new stuff (had he played them live) some days I ache I wish I was 20 years younger (no more I would hate to be a teen now) but then I put a record on (remember them kids? I actually had a girl at my last job about 2012 who asked me if they were those big round black things and you skipped tracks!) and remember I grew up with Bowie and Freddie Mercury
