Eddie Vedder’s voice is just perfect for this. I remember getting goosebumps the first time I heard it.
I love Eddie Vedder singing this song. It's a great classic but his raw emotion just brings me to tears it's so beautiful.
I love how Bowie puts his own trademark on this song with his amazing and unique voice.. Vedder has that amazing baritone voice. Both voices complement them so wonderfully.
How can anyone get into a debate over who owns this rendition vocally? Clearly those people are listening with their ears. Vedder & Bowie, so different, so perfect. Genius pairing. Vedder bleeding the pain, Bowie stiff upper lip perfection , pure composure. And THAT solo.... every time I cry. Sublime brilliance by all, thank you x
David Gilmour in my top 5 guitarists ever. Just my opinion.
Missing original Pink Floyd Members. only Roger and David are alive!
In a perfect world, the guitar solo in “Comfortably Numb” would last an hour.
David Gilmore's guitar solo touches all the sore places in my soul. What a wonderful version of a spectacular song.
True story...many, many years ago I was at a restaurant called Whamp Humpers at Universal Studios. Next to me sat a man that I kept glancing at and he would grin at me. A grin I knew all too well and finally shook my finger at him and he laughed. It was Mr. Clint Eastwood himself. He scooted his chair over to my table and told me there was a concert going to start that I needed to see. Like a dummy I knew Pink Floyd but not David Gilmore, he explained as my eyes got bigger. He stated it was pretty packed but he figured he could pull a few strings and winked at me. Note I was 24 and he was 54 at the time. So we walk over backstage, yep he could pull strings alright, and met Mr. Gilmore. We had seats just off to the side on the stage. Yeah me and Clint like we'd known each other forever! David Gilmore blew me away! Music makes me feel things I can't explain but hope you understand. I cried a couple times and Clint just smiled even bigger at my reaction. Scratched 2 things off the bucket list that night. As we were leaving out the back Mr. Eastwood gave me a hug and said "thanks kid for a real time. Don't always get one of them." He gave me a hug asked where I was staying, I said in a tent at the KOA and he laughed a full on one and told me he expected nothing less. I was from NM on a tourist visit. He gave me a slight salute and off into the night he went. Autograph...heck no...I was with the MAN seeing a LEGEND and I will never forget it!
This is my absolutely top favourite version of Comfortably Numb, I keep coming back to listen to this. Im always scared it wont be here anymore. Thank you for creating this, lifts every atom of me
Eddie can sing ANY song and make it sound great.
Doc: You've got 5 minutes to live.
David Gillmor..One of the most recognized guitar solos in rock..It doesn't get any better than that.
Vedder KILLS it---so good!!
Vedder has the perfect emotional voice for this one. WOW.
Words cannot describe the effect this song has always had on me ... a soul soaring, deeply yearning, transcendent epiphany that stretches on and on ... and with Eddie singing it takes it to the next level ... tears are still running down my face.
Pure Magic....Words cannot describe the beauty of this song....At 64 It still amazes me how music can touch my soul & and give me a sense of well being & Happiness that nothing else on this earth ever came close to! Thanks Guys.
Gilmour, Bowie Vedder that's some music royalty together on stage right there
