Yeah, I was quite surprised when I seen his name pop up, and he has barely changed from the last time I seen him which was probably 10 years ago. But one of the thing that has always amazed me about him is his consistency in calmness, and he's still got it! But damn what with the incredible things that his mind and body has endured in the name of his magic, one could easliy think they we're done playing long ago and had refused to cooperate any longer with David 😏😂

The best part is how casual and calm he is through the whole thing. He also literally explains the secret out loud but everyone is too shocked to actually pay attention. He has a tunnel of scar tissue right through his hand from years of poking through it. If you go back and watch he doesn't actually let Trevor freely jab it in but actually casually somewhat guides him to the correct spot; but the sheer shock value of everything is enough for people to not notice. Genius.

The trick is really not that hard. I’ve done it before. Of course in my version there’s a ton of commotion, blood, screaming and the finale is my assistant (an E.R. Nurse) asking me just what the hell I thought I was doing..., but it’s a pretty simple trick.

David Blaine is not campy. A biopic by Wes Anderson wouldn't do the weirdness of Blaine justice. Anderson movies are that campy, boring kind of non threatening weird.

Truthseeker, what are you saying he does with the alcohol swab? I've watched it a few times trying to see what you're talking about. The only thing I did notice a bit later is when Trevor picks his spot, it looks like Trevor touches David's hand and then puts the pick directly where he touched, making the swabbing with the alcohol pointless, so David subtly moves the pick to a slightly different spot. In my opinion I think he really just doesn't want to put the pick through his hand at a non-sanitized spot that Trevor just touched, but maybe he is moving it to a different area to get more scar tissue or fistula theory.

Oh that trick is totally fucking real. He's done some kind of procedure to his hands or something or trained his body in some way. It's just like his water spitting/frog trick. David Blaine just did an interview here Friday in San Diego, CA on Rock 105.3's The Show and the radio hosts asked him about the band aid on his hand and he talked about this! He also did the 4 number trick that Trevor was going to pick in the beginning. He's one of the greatest magicians ever!

Trevor actually looked sick, right from the beginning. He knew what he was going to be doing.

Most personality I’ve ever seen from this guy in this interview.

I remember the first time I did magic to John Stewart....😆

I don't mind watching his tricks BUT to sit and listen to him talk always makes me wonder who ties his shoes!

I love how David lowkey broke character by laughing when the audience laughs when he says that he’ll have to do something crazy

David Blaine is my fav!! Love his aesthetic and he works really hard. Most of his magic or tricks are scientific

I did this once...I had to be immediately rushed to an emergency room. Guess I'm not magic after all. 😒

You have to keep on piercing the same spot for a while eventually you stop bleeding &’ that spot becomes all calloused that’s the trick I think that’s what makes sense to me lol

This one is more of a stunt than a trick since he has a tunnel of scar tissue in his hand to poke the needle through cleanly from repeatedly impaling his hand
