Puberty.

Those two surely developed a good chemistry and have become a very dynamic duo over the years. But it seems a bit too early to speak of an actual romantic relationship as David and Frida should be around 13 by now. But it would certainly be interesting to watch them develop romantic interests if Luke Pearson continues to write more stories (as he seems inclined to do so).

They're definitely not 13. In either Train or Fairy Mound (i forgot which) they're shown sleeping in the same room, which means they're either 11 at the oldest or Astrid is an idiot.

no they’re 13, it’s confirmed. Also it wouldn’t make sense to just say that Astrid got her name mixed up. They wouldn’t have added that line in if they didn’t want people to know.

I KNEW THIS WOULD HAPPEN SINCE THE ENDING OF S2. Remember how much David took care of Frida when she almost broke her ankle? I've been shipping them since that time and you don't know how happy it makes me to see that for once I was in the right ship. I am sad that the show ended here because I wanted to see more of them now that they are teens. I hope in a future we at least get a new comic or something. Also that scene at 1:07 ! I didn't realize how they were looking at each other until now XD! Oh no no no, those are totally heart eyes!

Not surprising that most boys in her school and Sparrow Scouts would be drawn to her beauty and adventurous spirit. David is my honest favorite character. He kind of matches me when i was younger. And we also have the part where our high pitch voices go to deep. David also had millions of fears like i did when i was younger. My point is, i love david and his character development.

Being teenagers now, they're no doubt experiencing "the change" (periods), being fully "developed" (breasts), mood swings, learning in school about reproduction, how others see them as individuals, their figures, their beauty and attractiveness to boys, the WHOLE package! Yet they're still close as ever despite now being teenagers and growing up. Their friendship is as close as that of sisters in all honesty, as they'd been through so much together since they meet. It's very sweet to watch.

1:01 Now that I see the series again I realize that it has very well hidden green jokes😄.

Frida really hit witch puberty well. Her hair is even longer, her figure is more elegant, and she's no doubt "developed" like Hilda. They're already extremely beautiful girls for their ages and small wonder boys can't probably help but look at them in the halls of school or during Sparrow Scout meetings.

That's how earlier interactions with many couples have there are subtle signs you'll only notice if read too much into the scenes, they are friendly interactions yes but some subtle details hint a potential romance like not, immediately but you never know
