My first 45 single record I bought when I was 9 years old,Rock n Roll will never die,I'm still playing that type of music with my band at the age of 62.

Such a great rock 'n' Roll tune. I remember finding it absolutely hilarious when I was a little kid. Now, it's just one of my all-time favorite songs.

Memories of being at a flat at dawn to see someone who I knew in 1980. This song was first done in 1970 but I must have heard it somewhere that morning. Cold grey mornings and good times.

The best of pub music and that is a big compliment. It is the kind of music that will have everyone from grannies to grandchildren singing and dancing along. It's a crowd pleaser and isn't that what real music is?

I seen Dave back in 1993 in Ventura, California. He was a cameo appearence with a short lived band called "The Flew". For those that don't know, it was a band put together by Joe Walsh. Nikki Hopkins WAS supposed to be on Keys but had health issues. They played this song and the "ROCKED!"

God music really takes me back. My mum died in 1973 and she used to play this. Reminds me so much of her, hard to listen to, but happy memories.

Thanks to Smiley Lewis, Smiley also provided Elvis with One Night, but who now knows this?

I also thought he was like a prior Fogerty except CCR had a string of hits that JF wrote. One of my early Canadian bands had a deal with RCA London & did a few days of recording sessions in Wales in the early seventies on a farm-studio where Dave Edmunds did the original British hit record...fun place to work.

I'm convinced that Dave recorded an album of Elvis covers or at least an album that contained some Elvis covers, including Baby let's play house and possibly Mystery train but I have never been able to find any trace of it... Nice Fender Tele by the way, I have the same one.... inspired choice. Saw Dave live years ago, the guy really kicked ass. First time time I saw him he played for nearly two hours, went off, came back and said "Fuck it, let's play rock and roll" and did another hour....

It is cheaper to be single and celibate, than married and celibate.. You tube, predivorce paranoia, for the first, Plymouth county court house for the second.. 21 songs I wrote... They managed to ruin my attempts at playing in bands.. Second thought, I wish I never got married.. Predivorce paranoia, Plymouth county court house.. A divorce song for each one.. @namejimmy , Thanks for your reply, went down to London this week to see Million Dollar Quartet, the female [Elvis's girlfriend] did a great version of this in the musical, I can really recommend this show, I would say it is the best I have seen music and performance wise, see it if you can.

John Lennon mentions how much he loves this song 5 hrs before he gets shot if you listen to the tape. The last song he mentioned he loved on tape before getting shot.

Yes mickey was a great guitarist used to see him a lot playing in pubs in cardiff with mickey gee and the gee strings

Smiley Lewis doesn't own the copyright to this tune, the writers do: Dave Bartholomew and Pearl King. Dave Edmunds pays them royalties every time he sings the song in public or sells an album. Ditto for everyone else who covers it.
