I just recently got out of a relationship literally just like this one. I always found myself feeling anxious around her and she told me I was didn't love her the way she deserved or I didn't love her like she loved me even though I did literally everything I could. I found myself always apologizing to her and always dropping whatever I was doing whenever she called/texted even though when I texted/called her she didn't always answer right away but she would get upset at me if I didn't answer right away. She also did the EXACT thing when Joe was talking about the "Oh that guy's hot you should dress like him." She compared me a lot especially to her ex. The thing that makes this worse, is that it was my first ever relationship that I've been in so now I have a tainted idea of what it's like and I'm trying to work through that. I'm really lucky to have the parents I do because they've helped me so much these past 3 months and they were the ones who actually brought up some of my ex's behaviors. It was really really awful and I am really glad I'm out even though I do find myself missing her at times I just have to remind myself that, like Joe said, there are other fish in the sea and I will find the right one for me. But just know, if you are in a relationship like this, it really REALLY isn't good for you in any way at all but especially your mental health. I'm am so so so much happier now that I'm out of that relationship. Thank you for making this Joe and bringing awareness to stuff like this. Awesome video

Bro legit needed this. My ex is a narccist and when i was watching your video i feel like i watched my entire relationship happen before my eyes except for basketball its disc golf. Id ask for just an hiur to regroup after work but she would want to twll me all about why i dint make her happy. I spent every last dime on that women. Went from a very successful business owner to just a small business owner because i allowed my focus to scew. Its not worth it. Im in a weird boat because we had a beautiful baby girl together abiut 2 years into our relationship. Its been a lot. I know my little girl is my silver lining. That relationship turned me into a very cynical person but when i see lonis face none of it even matter anyway.

I really appreciate this message. I feel like there's so much content out there that portrays the guy as the horrible toxic one and the girl as the perfect reasonable one. The other side of the story rarely gets told and it kind of reinforces the cycle that the guy is always wrong by default and makes guys question themselves and second guess themselves even more when they are gaslighted. And a lot of dudes feel like they have to be patient and sit through it and keep giving her the benefit of the doubt and trying to uphold her demands, hoping eventually she'll return the favor and give a little bit back. It never happens, she'll keep treating you bad and making endless demands and nothing will ever be good enough to please her. She'll do things like throw a fit at you for not answering her text in 30 seconds, but ignore your texts for 9 hours and feel completely justified. She'll openly make suggestive remarks about other guys right to your face, but throw a fit and give you the silent treatment if you are simply decent and respectful to someone who happens to be a woman. She'll blame you and throw on the waterworks the second you stand up for yourself. And she'll poke and pry at you waiting for the moment you lose yourself and make a mistake, so she can hang it over your head for months and claim victim status in every situation. She will never look at herself in the mirror or admit to any wrongdoing. I was in a relationship like this and I felt so much lighter and happier when I got out.

Yeah, it definitely goes both ways lol (I’ve dated both narcissistic men and women 😅). It definitely is sad to see, I have a few friends in some right now, but it’s almost more difficult to get people to realize they’re dating one because narcissists are SO good at getting that initial attraction before showing their true colors that they almost are blind to it when it happens. hey Joe, just wanna say this skit hit home for me cause oh boy my ex was just like this video... everything revolved around her, never wanted to do anything I wanted to, and even told me straight up that she didn't have any kind of empathy and she just honestly made me feel like I wasn't a man when we were together cause she was upset more often with me more than happy. I knew it was going downhill when I legit had to think of every little thing to say to her just so she won't yell at me. So crazy tho how even today i still consider her like the most beautiful girl ever, but legit the worst attitude and person to be around I had ever experienced.

I had a best friend who dated someone like this and the deterioration is real, he used to be super energetic and hoop just like Joe here. Then once he got cuffed he started gaining weight, he changed emotionally, he become more closed off in general, became less ambitious. And honestly I wanted him to feel better again and I told him his girl was kind of a problem and now we aren't friends anymore. Everything he said at the end is facts. But also don't conclude that all men or all women are like this, because that's not the case at all.

Almost been a year since a relationship almost exactly like this. It lasted 2 years. Everything I did was to please them, and I always just felt like trash, since they didn't give respect back. My friends, who are both guys and girls kept telling me to get out. Towards the end of our relationship, she got mad at me since I finally stood up for myself, and she kind of ended it. Called back later crying, and saying she was afraid I was gonna replace her. 2 weeks later I see she wasn't changing at all, so I once again had a talk with her saying she doesn't really seem to care about me. She started crying, and threatened to harm herself. I was pretty stunned at that moment, but at the same time it was the wake up call to, "wow this girl is crazy." So I apologized pretty rapidly in case she was serious, but then avoided her for like a week. After that week she asked to talk, and I agreed. She basically told me she hated me, and she never wanted to talk or be around me again. I told her ok, and afterwards in my room I just sat down, and started crying. I still don't think I feel 100% but I would say I'm finally moving on, and better.

You might not reply I know this video is a month old but thanks for saying what you said. I had a girl like this that constantly tried to keep me a secret. I went to the hospital and almost died due to a pulmonary embolism (blood clots in lungs that travel through the heart) and she broke up with me while I was in the hospital bed. I had to learn how to walk and breathe again. She wasn’t there for me when I needed her and I was always there when she needed me.

Idk why but with the advice part he reminded me of First down Training.

My first relationship from 18-22 was with a narcissistic girl. It was hell and I had such a bad trauma bond I couldn’t leave. My first shot at “love” completely destroyed me. I started throwing up and fainting over the break up bc of how terrible the anxiety was. My doctor thought I was crazy. I was never the same after two years of healing. I am a very strong person now and I deserve someone who reciprocates the same love I have to give.

Bro this legit is the relationship with my mom, as sad as it is. Currently working on saving up for a car and my own place.
