The Dash mini waffler maker was my introduction to the Dash line of mini-appliances, and I loved it. I picked it up at Goodwill, and it was the best $5 I've spent in a long time. It didn't take me long to realize I could mix an egg, some blended raw onion, a little flour, and seasoning into leftover mashed potato and make potato latke waffles! I've also seen recipes online for chicken chaffles and waffled bean & cheese quesadillas! I've also seen people making 'waffle cookies' with cookie dough and cinnamon bun waffles using refrigerated cinnamon bun dough. I next bought a Dash mini griddle (the plain flat kind), but I was not impressed, so sent it back. I then added the Dash egg cooker, and I absolutely love it! I've not used the poaching or 'omelet' (more like a frittata) functions, but I make a lot of hardboiled eggs. I've since learned how this device can be used to steam individual portions of veggies, dumplings (gyozas, wontons, pierogis, ravioli), frozen shrimp, and fish! This is GAME-CHANGING for me! I expect it could also be used to heat soup, stew, or rice. I plan to try to steam sliced potatoes, mushrooms, onions, and broccoli; then I'll put the potato slices in the bottom of the 'omelet' dish, mixed the remaining veggies into beaten egg, and pour the mixture over the potatoes, to return to the egg cooker to make a true frittata! My third Dash purchase is their egg bites maker. I just recently got it, but I've since learned (from a future video on YOUR channel) how you can cook eggs, (turkey) burgers, and 'grilled' cheese sandwiches. I plan to try making turkey meatloaf a slice at a time! The minimal footprint and multifunctionality of these mini appliances is very satisfying. Currently, it's a dreadfully hot July, so being able to make hot meals without turning on the stove is a real plus!

My favorite thing in the Dash mini waffle maker is hashbrowns. I mix 1/2 up of Simply Potatoes with a Tablespoon of grated parmesan cheese. So crunchy and yummy.

I think subbing butter for oil changed the recipe so that it took longer to crisp. When you make cookies, they come out differently if you use butter or oil. So I think that’s what happened here. 😁

I just bought one and will try waffles in the morning. Looks like it's best to make the waffles until the steam stops, then take them out and finish in a toaster like store-bought frozen waffles.

I've found that cooking them 7 minutes makes them crisper. 👍 But I've done the toaster trick too 😉

Picked one of these up yesterday at Target (not the bow & go version) . . . I watched your video a bit and learned a few things before I made a very small amount of batter (got 2 waffles out of it, perfect,). I used a favorite recipe of mine: Hungry Jack 'Extra Light and Fluffy' mix, cinnamon, a splash of Vanilla extract and water to reach the right consistency. Five minutes gave me a waffle perfect for me and the second one came out exactly the same. Outstanding! Thanx for the review and the tips.

That's pretty much the recipe I've settled on. Boxed pancake mix (1/3 cup not exact), one teaspoon of vanilla and a few shakes of cinnamon, I add a half tablespoon of powdered peanut butter for extra protein, add water until it is pancake batter consistency(about 2oz...this helps with the cooking). Cook for 7 minutes to get them crisp.

**1/20/23**UPDATE: I've found a decent recipe for waffle batter after much trial and error. I now make waffles almost DAILY! Love this!! (Recipe is in my reply to OldThomMerton on this video) Bought this at Target about a year and half ago...tried doing waffles, then learned: The Batter IS EVERYTHING! I put it away after my mega disaster...BUT-- After seeing you can make other things, I gave it a second try. If you cook an egg 🍳 on it...it will cook MUCH faster than on the griddle version...and they look kinda "fun" too...I made fajitas using this to cook the meat, and I've done cinnamon rolls on it...that one works well because the middle gets cooked! Now-- I've GOT to find a good batter recipe and I'll try waffles again. Waffles are a rather tweaky food...people like them all different ways... crunchy, soft, etc...plus the batter has to be right. There's a learning curve. I do love this waffle maker though! 💚❤️🤗

I think your bring a bit critical. I’ve used this and it’s great for a ton of things. Grill cheese are great. Cloud bread is another great thing to make. I guess you’ll figure it out. They also have a regular griddle.

I bought the heart shaped model. The waffle area was tiny. It wasn’t nearly the size of that one and it took forever to cook it. I donated it to Amvet.

I bought this waffle maker and made this recipe today that came with the booklet, the top didnt come out completely brown for me, and i was a bit disappointed in the taste.. i noticed that most of the reviewers used ready-made mix, wonder if that 's what works with this machine?
