For those wondering why Vader was taking his time killing her, he was ROYALLY PISSED and wanted her to suffer for letting his most hated enemy escape. If she hadn’t peaked his interest by gasping out her plan, he probably would’ve taken an hour or so venting on her before granting her the release of death

Remember, that is actually Hayden in that Vader suit, so it makes sense why his walking is terrifying since Hayden had been known to have great acting range in body language. I mean, have you not seen how evil he looked when he was fighting Obi Wan in Mustafar? Not only that, Hayden has been waiting for so long to play as Vader during the Prequel movies and this is his first time since Revenge of the Sith that he was in that Vader suit.

Plus, in my own opinion, the underwhelming "duel" in episode 3 where he beat a nerfed Obi Wan and let a droid rescue him when he could have crushed it takes away a lot of fear I had for him. Admiral Ozzel gets out of light speed too quickly: *force choked* Captain Needa loses the Falcon and apologizes to Vader: *choked out* Reeva blunders her orders multiple times: "Nah you good"

I think this is the first time i've ever actually felt legitimate fear from Vader, the way he was walking towards Reva really struck fear in me. As of right now this is my favorite scene from this show.

what I love the most is that it is Hayden Christensen himself who is under that suit, it is amazing that he's back, loved so much these Vader scenes in the show, they're doing pretty well with this character, even it gives me the creeps to see him, he is still a terrifying and well respected character in the franchise.

In this scene you can clearly see how Vader seems taller after the speed walk and choke but shorter when he walks choking the life out of Reeva. So, in the first five seconds or so it's Hayden then another actor taller than him

The way he walks is easily some of the best motion acting i've seen. the steps and movements express EXTREME anger. Phenomenal job on Haydens part.

I agree. I think Hayden is the perfect actor for star wars. Star wars is meant to be visual storytelling and Hayden has always done a great job with that. For example in rots you can always tell when he's stressed out because of his heavy breathing and movements. The vader scene at the end of rots is perfect too.

The concept of Vader being slow is false. Vader still could operate at higher speeds when augmenting. Difference is, he is now more precise with his movements appearing slower.

When Darth Vader is coming at you at that speed, you've REALLY fucked up.

I like how when he’s yelling it almost bypasses the normal calm low tone of his voice modulator. Makes it sound like it’s almost more anakins voice than the suit

Hayden has really improved as an actor. To convey this much intimidation and anger without seeing his face. And we never see Vader full on sprint. He always slowly strides due to his injuries.

This scene really shows that Hayden has been taking notes on how Vader should be portrayed (hint: he watched the entire Clone Wars and Rebels series to prepare for the Kenobi series). It reminded me of that one scene in the Clone Wars where Anakin was hunting down Ventress and force chokes her to find out the person that framed Ahsoka.

And to think…this is a 91 year old man voicing with such intimidation 👏🏾

When Vader says "You were warned, what defeat, would bring!!" Despite the AI doing a brilliant job, you can hear Hayden almost talking in James Earl Jones' voice! I love that very small detail that tells us subliminally that Anakin is under that Armor!

I almost ran out of the room, this is how Vader rushing scared me.

I don't know what's more terrifying, Vader walking fast or imagining Anakin walking fast.

I would have liked this scene better if it ended with him letting her speak and spill her plan and then killing her. That’s Vader.

Nah, Vader understands the value of capable people working for him. He only kills when he believes the person is no longer beneficial for himself or the empire. The best example of this is his interactions with Boba Fett in Empire Strikes Back. If Vader wasn’t a man that adhered to his own sense of fairness, he could just as easily have killed Boba after locating the Falcon, saved the empire from paying the bounty.

Normally Vader would just snap her neck considering how much she pissed him off already ( Also because he just don't like Inquisitors at all they are just a disposable tools for him as stated on many occasions especially in comics ) . So he is not full on choking her because she has plot armor . Also about resisting it's not as likely because to resist force choke u need to be VERY strong in the force or use a countermeasure at the right time etc.

Even though I don't want Reva to die, I was disappointed that Vader gave her another chance. I think he's still not at his peak ruthlessness yet.

Secondly, she’s not supposed to be likeable, no part of her character so far has shown ANYTHING to indicate that they want the audience to identify with her at all, she’s supposed to be an obstacle for Kenobi. They’ve done nothing special for this character except state that they don’t support racist comments being sent to her. But clickbait’s gotta clickbait. Mark my words if Empire came out today the clickbait discourse would “Lucas is trying too hard to make us like Lando! They made a streetwise character like Han look like an idiot for trusting him!”

Her acting is just super bad dude. Gets force choked in the air, Vader loosens his grasp, no gasping for air, no veins on her face, no sweat, nothing! I’m really starting to believe when they called her a diversity hire for disney.

Hayden is amazing!

Vader is so terrifying that both enemy and his allies fear him equally. It's actually more terrifying to be on the same side he is, knowing one mistake can piss him off

When Reva said the whole point is to get Obi Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader body language was just in agreement with this, the whole point of the inquisitors is so he can find kenobi again

It’s funny how it doesn’t even look like he’s force choking her, otherwise the internet bot trolls would say it’s abusive towards women or something. Similar to what happened with X-men apocalypse poster.

Can someone answer a question, I just genuinely wanna know: why does Vader give Reva second chances but with Second Sister from Fallen Order, he immediately kills her after 1 mistake. Second sister through out the entire game has been successful in using Kal to get to the holocrone and even gets it to the fortress without a single failure. But as soon as she loses 1 duel with Kal, Vader kills her. But for Reva, she lets a random Jedi escape once and Kenobi escaped her grasp twice now, and yet Vader lets her live.

Because Bad Writing. Respawn Entertainment was passionate. Lucasfilm isn't.

When Vader spared Piett and Kreel for their failures (two times for Piett), it's ok. But when Reva is spared, and for a good reason... then it's out of character.

So satisfying. And that little smile from Fifth Brother was great.

even the other two Inquistors are terrified, watch them quickly back away.

God damnit we need an r rated Vader series!

For James being older then dirt he’s still og Vader force unleashed Vader comes second

Reva is a really well done character, its clear she was made for the audience to dislike to make scenes like this all the more cathartic. Now, let's just hope she doesn't get some half-assed "redemption" further down the line.

People don’t hate her because her character is written to be disliked. People hate her because her character is poorly written to begin with. actress isn’t good and her overall character is comically angsty If you haven’t figured out that’s she’s going to be redeemed or made an important figure at end of series already, you’re blind. whole show is really about her
