If you're wondering why Vader has a health bar this time, it's because you're playing as a VASTLY more experienced Jedi (Cal was barely a Jedi knight when Vader confronted him). It gives the illusion of hope that maybe, just maybe, Cere can live through this. In truth, her fate was sealed the second she decided not to run.

@@deandoesstuff3371 Kenobi’s choreography was far better than Sequels and even then the sequels still had some good fight scenes. I’d take the throne room fight over Mace vs Palpatine any day. Ian is great actor but he really wasn’t that convincing when it came to using a Saber and even he admitted it.

@@alecjackman2655 I mean...Mace vs Palpatine was the weakest fight, sure, but still better than any fight in the Sequels. They did a great job with camera work and stunt doubles to mask Ian's age/lack of dueling skill. I suggest you watch an analysis on the throne room fight and see how bad the choreography actually was. It had alot of flashy effects and impressive visuals, but technically, the fight was very poor...Like, somehow Rey was able to fight these trained guards as if she was a Jedi master in her prime, yet, her actual skills were below par...This made the entire scene feel off and made the guards just seem incompetent. Now, don't get me wrong, i enjoyed the fight, cause, like i said, it was visually pleasing, but when you start to notice he details, it's not that great ( from a technical standpoint ).

@@deandoesstuff3371 Personally I interpret Rey’s skills down to how she likely trained on ach 2 longer than we think with planet functioning similar to dagobah since planets that are rich in the force are known to move slower in time. In terms of that video, I’ve seen much similar videos that do the exact same thing with prequel fights with people saying Obi Wan and Qui Gon did unnecessary spin like the red guards and overextending the Saber strikes by 20 inches. Or Yoda fight with Dooku in ep 2 where someone points out that Yoda’s never close enough to where his strikes could actually hit Dooku and make it seem as though the reason Yoda isn’t dead is because Dooku isn’t actually trying. And last but not least the duel of the hero’s where there are several continuity issues such as Anakin and Obi Wan’s lightsabers changing. You can take the fun out of a lot of fight scenes by overanalyzing them frame by frame

I love how Vader lets Cere standing and not like chop her off or use the force or something after impaling her. Those kinds of duels that have Vader's respect. And that's saying a lot

Also to notice he uses both hands for holding his saber in the duel, meaning it's challenging him. In Fallen Order he was playing with her, using only one hand.

I think this fight does a pretty good job of showing why Vader is such a dangerous adversary. He's not only built like a tank with his suit, but he is also very cunning and tenacious. When Cere thought she had the upper hand with Vader pinned helplessly against the wall, she leapt at him to finish him off. She was walking into a trap; all Vader had to do was grab her arm and shift to the side, and with that Cere impaled herself on his lightsaber. She snatched defeat from what she thought were the jaws of victory, and her growing power became her undoing...

I can't believe someone died from being impaled by a lightsaber, its usually treated like a minor wound in Disney Star Wars

You have not disproven my point that Disney's Star Wars doesn't really know how lightsabers work. Most of the time they do not decapitate or run through anything because Disney wants to avoid gore, Characters get stabbed and don't die. Reva gets straight up impaled and then flies to another planet and has a prolonged fight with Lukes family

Last time they fought, Vader was only wielding his lightsaber one-handed, here he's wielding it two-handed. A rare occasion where Vader actually acknowledges his opponent's strength that he is not going easy anymore.

We know who's gonna win this fight. Still, it's a testament to the writing and choreography to simultaneously demonstrate Cere's abilities and treat her with respect, but also not having to nerf Vader to do it. It was a strong moment for both their characters.

The difference between fighting Vader here as opposed to running from him in Fallen Order is, to me, one of the best examples of the true power of a Jedi Master.

It’s good to know that Vader respects those who give him a run for his money.

For people who think Cere "shouldn't have put up this much of a fight" 1) She was already an experienced Jedi by the fall of the republic 2) She was strong enough to survive the Purge. 3) She'd been going on missions with Cal and the Mantis Crew, reclaiming her connection to the force and honing her skills in stressful situations. 4) She's been hoarding Jedi texts and training with them 5) This is the most important part: she had let go of her fear. She had already walked close to the dark side and overcome it. Jedi are at their most dangerous when they are able to fully let go of their attachments, which is something Cere had trained to do. We see it when she brings the archives crashing down, when she barely skips a beat after her beloved master dies. Darth Vader always breaks the spirit of his adversaries, not because it's something he likes to do, but because it's one of the most effective weapons a Sith has against a Jedi. Like HK47 says: "The erosion of the human spirit" is a potent weapon. Vader didn't anticipate this. He tried his usual tactics, and they failed him just before he realised they were pointless - when she collapsed the archives on top of him. When he realises he needs to put some weight behind it, he's already taken a severe blow that damages his suit. People talking about "power levels" and "nerfs" and whatever have missed the thing that governs 99% of fights between force users: emotion. Dark side users are at their strongest when they are deep in the throes of rage and fury. Jedi are at their strongest when they have let go of attachment and the fear of death. That matters far more than anything else. Cere was at the height of her power, had been training for years after already receiving training when the Jedi were still a formal order, and had fully let go of her attachments. Vader underestimated her and took a blow he shouldn't have. That's why she was able to stand toe-to-toe.

I’m sick of seeing these dumb comments saying *“oh but he wasn’t really trying”* it’s like bruh Vader isn’t going around letting himself get destroyed by Jedi. He was definitely trying and he prevailed but he isn’t this immovable object that everyone thinks he is and he never was in the first place, in both legends and canon Vader had plenty of moments where he was damn near annihilated. It’s still Anakin in there and a severely injured and hindered Anakin, when it comes to taking on powerful Jedi Masters who are focused and completely in the light, Vader will struggle and that’s fine. I don’t know why people need Vader to be this cardboard cutout bland immovable action figure who says cool lines…fights like these add so much character to him and show us that he’s still human. I welcome them as long as they make sense and Cere being firmly in the light, letting her past darkness go and fully embracing the Jedi way, while also being a Jedi Master with vast experience and knowledge makes perfect sense for her to put up such a good fight against Vader.

She may not have been council material during the clone wars but the Cere in this game was top tier Jedi Master level. There’s a reason why Vader didn’t send the Inquisitors to deal with her and came himself, it’s because he knew she would annihilate them…they’re not meant for hunting someone on her level, Vader does that personally.

Vader struggling is fine but you're lying if you say he isn't getting destroyed in this fight. You said it yourself we've already seen him being this pathetic more times than necessary. He works better as an intimidating villain, he doesn't need to fail the same way a hero does. making him fail constantly only ruins his credibility

I love the Long stare at the end point before he walks off. Much respect for Cere lasting that long & actually almost able to beat him. Fantastic game.

I like to think that Cere knew she wasn't going to win when Vader burst out of the fire and debris she dropped on him. She wasn't going to give up of course and she gave a better fight than most but I think she knew in that moment she was going to lose/die.

I love how Vader didn’t even have any final words to Cere here. No mocking comment about her weakness or foolishness. Just accepting that he won already, and hobbling away to lick his wounds. The fight was actually enough that Cere got his respect. So he just walked away, and let her die in peace.

This game is perfect in terms of story to me. Very close to finishing and loving every bit of it

Damn, Imagine a Vader not held behind by his suit and robotics.

What i like about this fight more than the others is the fact that you’re not the one walking away or OP

I liked the ending of this fight. Cere only lost because she missed/Vader redirected her blades path. If he was anyone other than Vader he would've died. Though to be honest he should've 100% been able to catch all that debris before it fell on him, but I'll ignore that for the badass on fire look we got. RIP Cere but you did more damage to Vader than 90% of the Star Wars Universe could. Good job.

Vader's been defeated multiple times, he's far from invincible the 501st legion have rescued him after losing duels in a few cases where he was nearly killed by a Jedi. Vader has a bad habit of relying on his brute strength to win fights and it leads him into some pretty perilous situations after he underestimates his foe. He's been tricked into walking into traps that he would have been doomed in if not for the imperial reinforcements.

@@Zonedoutallthetime that does depend on the sources tbh, as a lot of what you mentioned is Legends only material, but from the Canon stuff I see, despite getting damaged during some fights with Jedi, he's far more powerful when dealing with them then he was in Legends.

If anything, I think this shows the sheer power of Cere. She wqs bested, but NOT by much. And the fact that Vader was hobbling away just goes to show how much damage she inflicted on him. There are prescious few who could go toe to toe with Vader.

I am actually very very shocked she made vader limp at the end. That is some real competition

Keep in mind that this is probably Vader before he fought Obi Wan again in tv show.

I love how vader is so experienced he knows the damage of that type of impalement is an immediate death wound. And he feels her life slipping away so he just stumbles away knowing she is done

Scene reminded of the Ahsoka vs Maul fight. When the heroines get a timeout (Ahsoka kicking Maul through the window, Cere burying Vader with debris), they show they're exhausted.

So I was looking up something from the movie and this was in the recommended it isn’t even out yet and I was already spoiled 😅

Cere gave Vador that work and the way she took out the imperial army was just a masterpiece but danm the way vader got her was slick

Dark vader held back in till she cut his breathing machen and dropped a whole wall on him at same time if he did play around it would been like last game but she did great

And now it's spoiled for me

3:23 I'm sorry, but the little shimmy he does there while standing back up is hilarious to me.

They really made Vader a beast in this game. You can see how impressive he is while fighting him, how tall he is. What an absolute beast of a Sith

The fact that Master Junda was able to do THAT MUCH DAMAGE to Vader baffles me. She was so close. When Cal came on screen I actually screamed at my TV "GO AFTER HIM HES ALMOST DONE" 😭 I knew it wpuldnt happen but it could've!!!

Straight after this fight my game crashed and now I'll have to do it again tomorrow

Even though I knew I fighting him that there was no way of winning, I was excited to see that health bar because after the first game, I absolutely HAD to run the ones with this man. He straight up hunts you in the first game, and personally I couldn't let that slide 😭

Vader I toying with her but then at the end he realizes she's powerful so when she's least expecting he uses force stroke (We saw snoke do this to rey) that's why she missed

I wouldn't say he destroys her she put up a pretty good fight

He destroyed you if he got a hit off because his hits scratched off heath especially that grab and choke dude that takes so much. Health shows how strong he is

He first killed the apprentice and now the master.

Man this fight was a BLAST. Easily one of my favorites

Nerfed Vader is not a good Vader. I just wanted the writers to stop using Vader as cannon folder. Create new villains ffs!

I literally forget spoilers. I had an entire game's story, setting, and characters spoiled a few days before I was planning on getting the game and I just forgot that it happened.
