Just on the Roy Keane story- I met this cork man in Sydney a few years ago. He ended up best friends with my brother who was living over there. This guy played soccer with keanes older brother. What he described was real tough fighting men the keanes. All the brothers were hard as nails. English think the bottom is bad their. Being poor in cork in the 70s and 80s was crazy tough, and people wonder where he gets all that from… the gutter

Duncan Ferguson. English fans know he was jailed in Scotland but don't know he had multiple arrests for assault and a total of gour convictions. Also, there were two attempted burglaries, 2001 and 2003. Both times he put burglars in hospital. On the pitch he was often unplayable. The way he launched at the ball and sometimes players terrified defenders. If that man blew a fuse you'd better run. A genuine street fighter, genuine hard man.

I base it on whether the person in question was picking a fight with me and I didnt know who they were would I have a pop or do a bit of grovelling. Keane I would not be too bothered but Billy Witehurst, Duncan Ferguson or Vinnie Jones, that's a different matter.

I am always surprised Pat Van Den Hawe is never mentioned in these lists. Plus he was a talented player for Everton, Spurs and Wales.

Hard often means I can chop someone who was far better than me. Doesn't take a genius to go through someone running at speed with the ball. Chopper Harris was he any good? How many England caps.

Im a complete noob here but isn`t one of the 1st.things about visual presenting to the viewing public to concentrate on letting said viewers view your mouth as you talk.(especially if you talk fast & don`t open your mouth very far). Darren`s ok btw.

Doesn't take a 'hard man' to jump into knee high assaults on unsuspecting opponents.
