Nothing can truly beat the first one in my opinion, but I get what you mean. Rise of Darkrai flipped the formula instead of repeating the same old "here's the bad guy, let's go beat it" boredom.

They only were really brushing him aside like a child because he was getting in a fight that didn't concern them. It wasn't until he used that dark sphere that they really took him semi-seriously. At least enough to throw a full strength blast his way, killing him.

@@LostTumbs games? eh I dunno. starters I would personally actualy say maybe kalos had the best trio or one of the best. ambiance? haven't played gen 4 but alola has some great ambiance to. legendaries? some of the best that's for sure. mythologies? in terms of lore actually with it being some of the most important arguably.best team? like evil team? no not really the best story or rivals. pokemon? there are awesome pokemon but also has a few stinkers (like BIG stinkers if you ask me). how is the region that ntroducded strategy? I've heard it requires a lot of hms to get through though.going underground the villa and distortion world are cool and mt coronet but other games had there own cool locations to including going to alternative dimensions and going up dimensions to or even soaring through the sky. best elite 4? yeah I wouldn't say that especcily looking at dp's fire type elite 4 member. champion? many would say yes actually me? im not sure. gyms? eh I dunno about that. glitches? gen 1 has a lot more interesting glitches. ok yeah it introduced looker. pokemon watc is cool. it had some exploration aspects and events I'll say that (sucks the arceus one was never distributed though. but was sinnoh the "most diverse" region? I mean remember it's fire type issue? doesn't sound that diverse if that happened. feature rich? eh later gens had a bunch of features to

Darkrai is a mythical so it is illlegal in vgc.

The music is freaking perfect for Darkrai, what first sounds menacing and scary slowly turns into more of an shunned hero's theme the more you hear it, exactly what the town people and the protagonists see the mythical pokemon as throughout the movie!

This is honestly my favourite theme from the entire series, still gives me chills to this day

If they based a single arc on Darkrai lore, that alone would skyrocket the main story.

they did, it's called Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, Explorers of Time/Darkness (I suggest you get the upgraded port of Explorers of sky,) It dealt with pokemon going into comas and suffering from nightmares along with your playable character having nightmares where your partner tells you the best way to stop the coming darkness is to kill yourself before Palkia can eliminate you, to save yourself the suffering,. and this happened after you brought Dialga back from his senses preventing him destroying all of time in a primal fury,

To give a brief (or long lol) explanation, the story of Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky is that time is out of control, causing time to stand still in some places, which will eventually spread and lead to the planet's paralysis. You have to collect sacred object called time gears and bring them to Temporal Tower where Dialga lives to fix the crisis. In the climax of the main story, the player has to defeat Primal Dialga (who has gone out of control and attacks you because of time being unstable) and save the world. In the post game, it is revealed Darkrai sabotaged Temporal Tower to cause the planet's paralysis, as he yearns for a world of darkness. Darkrai once again tries to achieve this goal, this time by distorting space. Darkrai talks to you through your dreams, disguised as the Pokémon Cresselia (who tries to apprehend Darkrai for the crimes he committed) and claims you are the reason for space's distortion. Darkrai also uses this trick on Palkia, hoping Palkia will come after and destroy you, so you can't foil his plans again. This plan almost succeeds but the real Cresselia shows up and exposes Darkrai just in time. After you and Cresselia defeat Darkrai once and for all, Darkrai tries to flee through a dimensional hole, which is a passageway through time. However, Palkia shows up and destroys the dimensional hole as Darkrai is traveling through time. Cresselia theorizes that this has likely caused Darkrai to lose his memories and he will not return to his wicked schemes.

This was so goddamn epic at the time the movie came out *AND IT STILL IS*

@DarkRai While "Mythical" may be the technically correct term, quite frankly, I lump Mythicals in with Legendaries and refer to them as Legendary Pokemon as both groups share roughly the same power level. The only thing that I am aware of that makes a Pokemon "Mythical" is that you can't catch it through normal gameplay. Take Deoxys for example. In RSE it would likely have been considered a Mythical Pokemon as it was not found in normal gameplay. Now in ORAS it is the final Pokemon in the Delta Episode storyline which would likely make it Legendary now.

There are at least two themes from the Pokemon movies that got my heart racing, This and Lucario's theme, I don't care what others think....but Lucario's was just Epic, While Darkrai's just has that feeling of Fear behind it, still epic but it has that fear feeling

Technically it is, Aaron's Theme...but my mind immediately links it to Lucario, since in the anime before X&Y anytime Lucario or Riolu makes an appearance, that theme just plays, faint but its there

This music is so intense that a rage of something rises inside of me. Thsi music is the best from 1999 till 2021 in pokemon history. This movie was so awsome and a full success and one of the main reason was that there was a cool pokemon darkrai and a perfect music shooting it!

Was. DARKRI!!!! The presence that creates fear from a glance, that haunting silhouette, those blue eyes contrasted by white, red, and black....that sense of power....yes I remember now....it was him. Darkri that gave me my love of dark types! For those wondering ever since I was young I have loved and respected dark type Pokémon. There designs, names, moves, EVERYTHING!!! But....I never knew why. You see I've loved Pokémon since I was four, that's the time my brother introduced me to it, yet I couldn't remember why....all I remembered was a shadow....but now...I REMEMBER!!!!!

Around three years ago was the last time I heard the theme in the movie The Rise of Darkrai, but when I heard it in Pokemon Diamond & Pearl Battle Dimension, the TV Series, I recognized it RIGHT away! This is how much I love the theme, and how it stayed in my heart!

I think darkrai or maybe pokemon black and white was the last 'pokemon' thing I associated myself with. I'm glad it was apart of my childhood.
