Dark might have the highest ceiling in Rocket League, hopefully his awareness and overall gamesense catch up to his speed and mechanics down the line. NWPO was in a similar spot last year and leveled up significantly since so there's hope for Dark as well.

Didn't watch a lot of games from these players and thought from comments that Dark was way lower than other KSA players. When the game started though I swear I saw Dark sweeping Vatira. He was so fast and precise ! Same thing with the french player, only watched him lose some 1's so I had no idea he was that capable. Both players are insane and so quick on the ball ! Great match.

Something that I really think sets dark apart, is it always seems like he’s in the ranked ones mindset of playing to get better, even in show matches. I think there are a couple games that are outliers though, like his game against Daniel

you get more power when shooting with diagonal flips. but it's hard to recover after the shot so they cancel the flip just after shooting. every pro does this. even for long shots

I swear Dark is a different player every game. He goes from setting up a full field dribble to just throwing the ball away. He gives possession so often instead of keeping on the pressure with his speed and mechanics.

He has the mechs but is very easily outplayed by good defense and the opponent generally being smarter than him so, he is definitely not better than the pro 1v1 players like firstkiller since they capitalise off of his mistakes and beat him easy.

LittleJump ASAP as you land on the ground and dash forward again 👍 it's taking advantage of the physics making the car wobble/bounce/rebound unevenly off the ground when landing is not perfectly flat

All names I can think of that doesn't describe a mechanics but everyone use: musty / breezi flick, zap / wave / chain dash, pogo, squishy save, pinch and psycho. 9 names that everyone use. Is it that hard to learn 9 names that you have to avoid them at 100%? Also why use some and not others? Go to every other content creator and you'll hear them using all of these names. At this point "zap dash", "squishy save" and every other name mentioned here are the names of the mechanics. Also you know how ridicullous your argument is? Imagine some guy who bought a scateboard and started learning tricks decides that the names of those tricks doesn't describe what those tricks are and the people who invented them were worse than todays top scaters so he starts renaming everything. That's literally what Johny is doing (ik he's not just some "guy" in rocket league scene but still). You don't just go around renaming things. Also just because the name of a thing doesn't describe what you are doing with 100% accuracy or even doesn't describe anything at all doesn't mean you shouldn't use it when literally everybody else does.

Chain dash, pogo, and pinch literally describe exactly what they do. I don't call them some generic off brand name. I'm telling you what JOHNNY (2 N's, the name is right in front of you) does. Some long forgotten name that no one talks about anymore vs the most anticipated pro to play the game? Yeah I'd say that's an awful naming convention. "Squishy save" is a bad name. He was not the first to do it and he's not even known for it. "In and out" save describes exactly what it does and makes far more sense. Also sounds good and is easy to say. Mechanics that are easily and concisely describable by their name, should be. "Zap dash" makes sense because that's kind of what it looks like AND it also pays homage to the guy that created and popularized it. "Breezi" makes sense because the only people saying that are freestylers or people really invested in RL and it's such a complex mechanic that nothing could really describe it. "Wavedash" makes sense because it's so old and ingrained into RL (and gaming) culture and also sort of resembles the action. "Musty" is fine because there's no other way to describe it that makes sense and just calling it a flick is misleading. "Psycho" works because again, it's a very advanced mechanic that only high level people or players really invested in the game need to know, since it's so rare to encounter below GC, AND because nothing else could adequately describe it. It's about what makes sense and what sounds good. Squishy does not need the mechanic named after him. He's plenty famous on his own and is still very well known in the modern Rocket League scene. The mechanic looks nothing like its name and could be misleading to anyone unsure of what it is. AGAIN, I DO NOT CALL THEM WHAT JOHNNY DOES. I was explaining his reasoning and why he calls them that. THIS comment has explained what I personally believe would make the most sense.

dark tries too hard to be speedy, flaps around the field which involves him making unnecessary movements and ultimately gets him scored on cus he can't keep up with himself. He's a very mech player but If he tried less to hit a clip every time he has the ball, focuses more on his defence cus honestly, at the top ranks, it's not great, then he'd be much more consistent and probably would be considered within a top 5-10 1v1 player.

This match certainly wasn't bad, just banter and then mutual GGs and even Vatira wondering how in the fuck Dark plays that fast on controller, a huge compliment basically saying his movement is borderline impossible. If you're gonna hate on Vatira, maybe just do it on a video where he was actually toxic?

I used to get excited when I saw Dark’s name in the title, but Zen has spoiled me. Literally the only player I want to watch play this game lol
