exactly what i did on my first run :D imo it makes the fight more fun and meaningful, with parry it doesnt feel like a boss

You and everyone else. I personally rarely parry in Souls games, just something about the feel of the delayed shield parrys I don't like. Only From games I love the parry in are Bloodborne and Sekiro.
