I had a long chat with Ambrose at the khan/maidana press conference and some of the stories he told about Nigel Benn, Mike Tyson and others back in the day were mind blowing. Great bloke

Kinda inclined too agree with you.dodge seems more humble and puts the guest up on a pedestal where as James seems too give off the appearance his the star in the show and a bit too scripted.

100% the level of questioning is much better. The guests have been spot on as well! James English last few quests have been questionable

This was quality... obviously remember Ambrose Mendy from the boxing days but aint really interested in football to that degree but I was completely consumed by it.. top interview and great content from the guest.. hope there's a follow up to this one.. cheers

Fascinating interview I wish it was longer!

As Mr English.piles on weight and hair gets messier , Mr Attwood moves more towards an American audience..... I have no doubt this channel will secure its rightful position as long as its not rushed and forced . Clean as a whistle , love it !

Met Ambrose at the Hatton Vs Castillo in Vegas many a year ago, gave me a few minutes of his time, really nice guy and I really enjoyed our conversation!

Finally a proper podcast keep it up dodge , finally no more James English . Ambrose is a legend . New sub mate

This gentleman must be very well read because he is very articulate and is engrossing to listen too I could of spent 3 hours listening to this man. There should be a part 2 because I’m guessing he could teil a lot more stories

This is a great listen, always heard about Ambrose but never heard his story. Keep it up Dodge.

That was a brilliant anecdote about Bobby Moore knowing his name and greeting him like that. It just shows how classy Bobby was. An absolutely wonderful man from what I've heard. I've never heard anyone say anything bad about him.

This popped up in my recommendations for some unknown reason but I'm pleased it did. Great interview. Very interesting stuff. Would I be mistaken in thinking Benn returned back to Frank Warren after the 1990 legal issue, because Warren was joint promoter for the McClellan fight in 1995?

I remember when I was younger how the press always portrayed Ambrose as some sort of gangster, back then I really didn’t understand how much opposition was against him. I am so glad to hear his side of the story Ambrose is truly incredible individual with so much experience to pass on to younger generations.

The good old days of Stratford, saw Duran outside the Apollo back in 88. The owner with the ponytail was a lovely geezer.

Amazing podcast never new the Paul Ince west ham drama.. always remember ince at man unt then his time in Italy.. then even at Middlesbrough he was class .. and for England he was class.. Paul Ince Is underrated.. they talk about kante and now how tuff tackling players with good technique are missing out the game.. it's all lampard box to box players.. Paul Ince was that technically good could tackle pass beat a guy score goals.. definitely a underrated talented.. in his prime.. he could have played in any team in the world and hold his own .. guy was class .. just missed the burst when the prem got huge late 90,s he was getting on.. but class player

Yeah Ince left West Ham for United, Man U where Flip flopping at First because they thought He might of had a long Term Groin Injury but they took a Punt & it Paid off In Dividends

Dodge, great interview with a great character! Well done mate 👏 I know in one of your questions on KZread you’ve asked “Gangster or SAS?” But another avenue that would be excellent would be those early 90s boxers and managers. The boxing boom before the current boom, just food for thought. Anyhow excellent work as always 👌🏼

@@DodgeWoodall no problem, well as Ambrose touched on Terry Marsh retired as an undefeated fighter and never got the recognition he deserved. People like Ronnie Davies who has trained both Eubanks could tell some great stories and was around for both eras…. Just food for thought, thanks again 👏🙏
