Eddie is the perfect example of someone who partly got where they are due to privilege, but stayed where they are due to talent. Like him or not, he’s built for the role he’s in, slick as hell 😂.

Exactly. Anyone can inherit a business but not everyone can turn it into a bigger success like how Hearn has. He gets a lot of unnecessary hate and I see a lot of KZreadrs and personalities like SJ try to downplay him with the angle about his dad giving him Matchroom - I’m very objective but people who say that just come across as salty haters.

This is all great , but the cease and desist order from Benn's lawyers wasn't given the time and response it shd That's where it gets shady, especially from Hearn and Simon shd have pressed him more on this. It's the only dodgy factor that shd have gotten most of the time Both are great speakers and Simon is correct. I saw his podcast with Robert from the British board of no control

Simon fought on emotion too often, aggresive and swingng wildly. Had a high punch output but missed the mark a lil' too often punching with his opponent instead of waiting and countering effectively. Eddie kept a cool head and fought the more consistent fight. Picking his moments as the backfoot counter puncher. Solid jabs throughout keeping his opponent at arms length whilst picking his moments to plant his feet and trade. *Eddie wins by decision*

Yeah, I noticed that as well. Whenever Simon started to talk, he felt the need to throw in a few barbs against Eddie before getting to his point. He also continually tried to talk over Eddie when Eddie was speaking. Jim was always going to be in a tough place as facilitator, but I think he could have done a lot better in closing Simon down when Eddie was talking. My take from this exchange was that Eddie came out better. Going into it I thought Simon might come out on top, but from what I saw it was clear that Eddie wasn't going to allow Simon to bully him the way that Simon often does to others.

To wrongly say that someone in the world of business has gone bankrupt is slander. This is because the impact an allegation like that could have on them within the business world is massive. Many creditors or investors could want to cut ties. It could also result in them losing customers/clients or damage their reputation. Not the same as saying someone who works cards in for someone else has gone bankrupt.

@George P exactly regardless of how flawed Simon may think it is eddie was just giving him the facts. yeah it does seem abit weird to not have a stipulation in the contract where if your fighter fails a drug test you can call the fight off yourself and not have to wait for the board to do it but like eddie said hindsight is a great thing. Everyone made mistakes regarding this whole situation but at this point I think the best thing for Mr benn to do is to sit in front of the board present all the evidence and come to some sort of resolution because its not just gonna go away. Eddie can argue his case all he wants but conor needs to man up grow a pair and deal with this situation. It should have been him in there with simon today tbh lol.

@@Bandzino91 yep, and its good to hear Eddie hold his hands up and say he wishes he done things wrong and moving forward may change the contracts, the hard part of that is, like the dillian whyte situation, if the promoter pulls the fight when the fighter is still sanctioned and the test gets proved to be wrong, the promoter will get sue’d for loss of earnings, people wont like it, but im afraid them people dont understand how legal binding contracts work

I have to say that Eddie Hearn has the patience of a Saint. He exhibited class, he was a gentleman throughout and showed an enormous amount of restraint. Especially when Simon Jordan was unnecessarily and consistently insulting him on a personal level! I'm ashamed to say.... Id have lost the plot within the first 10 minutes ..leaping the table, one hand violently assaulting Jordan with his own microphone....whilst at the same time wrapping the microphone lead around his neck, strangling him to death with my other hand 😂
