As an Elite Reaper...it is my job to knock at ones door...rake them by the hand, and walk them to their resting place...to put one at ease with the world....to allow one to pass to spirit rehelm...maybe some day one of us will knock at your door...and when death knocks at ones door...one must answer...

What really gives the chills is that on this day we represent nearly 2% of all humans who existed, and Homo Sapiens existed for over 300 000 years. And 2% of 300 000 is 6 000, that would have been the number of years necessary for all currently living humans to be born and still be alive to get to that percentage, if only the human population had remained constant since the beginning of its history.

"There must be some mistake!" the old man cried to the ferryman. "I'm not dead!" The ferryman kept his head low, steering the boat along. "It's not true!" the man shouts, "I'm leaving the boat." As he takes his jacket off and moves the the edge of the boat the ferryman turns and grabs his shoulder, stopping him. The old man looks at the black nothingness inside the ferryman's hood, "where are you taking me?" For the first time the ferryman spoke, "...to your wife..." He points towards shore where a woman stands waving. The man falls to his knees crying, "Why? Why am I dead?" The ferryman puts a hand back on his shoulder, more consoling this time, "...because everyone is not perfect, and our imperfection leads to our death..." The old man looks to the ferryman. No longer did he hurt, no longer was he hungry. He left for his wife and the ferryman was left alone in his boat again, until he found another soul...

We, ourselves as humans, will always want answers to what comes after. We will never rightly know until we are dead. I find that quite sad but it should be said that comfort will always be found in the thought of the ability to reach out and talk to those who have passed. Some how filling this in makes some people comfortable with the thought of their own demise. Have I gotten close to this divine force?, no. I can only think, hope, and ponder about what comes after.

"Don't be afraid" she said, looking out the window into the darkness. They both sat in silence, so silent that they were able to hear the little droplets of rain patting on the window gently, but soon enough, he broke the silence. " I'm not afraid, I'm terrified " " But... Death is an adventure, my love. " " an adventure, so you say? Then why do people cry over the dead? " She looked at him in the eye, trying to answer him... " Death is an adventure for the dead, although sometimes painful, it's something you have to accept and let nature take its course, and when they cry at your grave, they cry because they will miss the adventures they had with you, and because they'll be missing out an adventure you're having without them". He squeezed her hand, " But I don't you want to go " She kisses him softly on the cheek. " it's time for me to go, my son, just promise me one thing... you will sing me deaths hymn when you're stoof at my grave. "

As a deathly silence fell amongst the room The room grew cold They both knew that death was here with them...standing along side them At last death made himself viable He kneeled down to the boy and in an alarmingly calm voice death began to speak He said to the boy, "It is going to be ok...she will not feel pain....she he will not suffer....she will feel warm...comfortable....tiered...she will drift to sleep....then I will proceed to put her at peace....is there anything you would like to say further before she gently slips away from life?" The boy looked death in the eyes, instead of cowering and hiding, the boy huged the reaper...and the reaper huged back...tears began to stream down the boys face...all three of them knew....it was time....and it would all be over......soon

@@erinyeager7890 and with one last look at the woman who had held him, clothed him, fed him, LOVED him, he whispered two singular words. "Thank you..." The reaper waited, for even though he spoke not, he knew he wasn't done with his final farewell. The boy held her hand, her grip was weakening in his grasp. She was right Death was an adventure. An unexpected journey. But just because someone was right, didn't mean it wouldn't hurt like all the axes and swords in the world weren't bearing down on him. It was too much. He let go. Her hand dropped and the reaper moved in. The very last of her breath fell away from her lips and then, as the reaper had promised, she passed silently and peacefully into the realm of the dead, the realm of those who had seen all there was to. She was at peace. So, even if the boy was heartbroken, as the lone tear fell down his cheek, he realized something. He was too.

Death is not what we fear. We fear Leaving those we love behind. We fear the darkness. Don't be afraid of death. Be happy about it. You are only a gift from God sent to death. We are gifts to the one we believe we fear. That makes us cruel and heartless. Embrace death for it is only new and eternal life. We fear the pain we will feel. The sadness of others. We do not think about anything other than that. People hear the word death and instantly think of dark nothing and sad people. But what they don't think of is the gift that we are to the one who leads us to eternity to all life. Till death do us part.

As I looked into the sky, I wondered. What did I wonder? I can't exactly say. I saw the storm clouds gather, as the sun remained beaming true before the light was consumed. Frozen winds blew over me, and I clutched my coat a little tighter. A little. I stood there for a while. I can't exactly say how long. I felt like I was taking my last breaths as the chilling breeze cut into my skin. I fell. I lied there. Life and death aren't that different, really. When the sands of time stop flowing, they meet. They don't contrast. They bond together. Your memories flash by. And you look forward. They always imagine death as black, but I imagine it as a mirror. It reflects you lifetime back at you. The light at the end of the tunnel. But, sometimes, the rain dies down. I was strong. I remembered I had more to do before I could walk down that beautiful tunnel. So I picked a blooming flower, and stood up as the sun broke through the storm. The flower was black. The field was white. It was a wonderful bit of symbolism, really. No matter how beautiful life may seem, there is always one shadow amongst it. Ready to remain past the others.

Death means nothing in the grand scheme of things. It is simply the end of life. However it is up to you to find what it means to you in the present. Whether it is something to celebrate or to grieve about, whether to look forward to it or fear it. It is ultimately the end of life, and can mean nothing, but everything.

Death is a beautiful concept. It's something vile we all want to escape from in a great time of need. It's like a person we think best to ignore in order to carry out the daily peace in our own little world. Do you want to know why death is something I find awesome and wonderful? In a way, people could summarize death as the equivalent despair to the same hope that drives them each morning, to talk to the same friends, to carry out the same routine, to meet others and gain some new and dry perception of life, and maybe even go out a night or two to celebrate the time that escapes our present moment. Is death really anything ugly? In fact, look at all the illness we have brought upon our own kind in this life of a heartbeat. How could anyone truly call that anything amazing? All it takes is one singular and powerful thought to realize how tranquil the act of departing the world is. There'd be no love, hatred, dreams, nightmares, suffering, destructive prosperity, and there would be no trials of creating a mind that usually has no value in the world beyond death. I enjoy ordinary people for how they are able to delude themselves, but I also kind of hate them out of pure disgust. It is because their actions are the same, no matter what destiny changes or alters. They'll always come to do the same thing, because there is a great comfort in the ultimate deception. Man's own lies. Fruitless smiles, meaningless values, and useless convictions that do not place power to prevent the disaster and weakness humanity allows to develop. There is no future we want to make our own. Our dreams are meaningless, our ambitions are seeds that have yet to rot itself out, our prayers are cries we recognize to excuse how powerless our existence is, our beauty is made artificial in the eyes of the public, our morality maybe is noble but time will come when they fail to meet their own ideology. Almost every person, including myself, embody an aspect of generic features, many not so different from others, some too similar, so we should question ourselves if we died, how would the world be affected in the long term? Sure, loved ones will mourn, keep you as a memory, but those cherished images will perish in ashes when grimness invites itself to the end of their life. Death is such a lovely concept. There'd be no point, no journey, no ugliness, no beauty, no pain, and no expected blessings to reign upon down our waste of space and oxygen. That is why death should be the happiest thing on earth! LOLOLOLOL. *sound of painful and awesome captivating laughter* DEATH IS JUST ONE FUNNY JOKE OF terrible timing. Happy holidays!

Honestly the sound of rain isn’t meant to be sad nor is this song dark at all. And since I love the rain it just makes me think of a nice rainy day where the grass is blowing, wind in your hair and the expansive smell of nature all around you.

As she closed her eyes, everything turned black. The time came to a still as her loved ones looked at her... They were devastated. As the light escaped from her eyes into the air, her eyes turned darker and darker until you could see nothing but black. As she perished, she turned paler and paler until she was pure white. As her soul escaped her body, the soul wandered and wandered until she just turned more and more evil. She killed all the people who made her this way. She was also a lonely teenager with no one by her side. The loneliness killed her. The harsh words from the people killed her confidence. The guilt killed her conscience. And most of all... her monsters killed her soul. She is all of us who are holding on right now and have no idea until when can we hold on...

"Sewn into the grounds of an ancient hill, in a land far from happiness lies not what one wishes to think of. The eyes of those who lay there, forever closed and glossed over like a beautiful locket that has no opening. The soil of the dead surrounds them as they rest in a never ending slumber of cold and dark. Damp rain is but a solemn and sad bringer of life, but falls on blind eyes and deaf ears. We bring life to death, for what atonement? The brightness of life, like a modest candle, reaches nothing but the surface of the dark silence. Forever said for those that remain, death is nothing but an ending, an ending that closes the book on life and eventually encompasses us all."
