When I was in 8th or 9th grade we used to always try and distract our math teacher from talking about math. We'd ask him to sing Gregorian Chants (idk how we knew he knew Gregorian Chants) which he would sing for a minute or so. So wow hearing this has transported me back to 2006.

I don't know if I'm weird but, hearing this type of dark ambience music during the late night hours brings me so much peace... like, is a type of peace of mind that I can't have on my day on day basis.

I love how the commets to this video are full of rather deep explorations on the human condition. The emperor brings light.

I grew up Roman Catholic and always loved the Gregorian chant. My fiancee was brought up Christian and she said she hears it and it reminds her of a scene in most horror movies where someone gets killed. She can't experience the heart and soul.

It's so beautiful. When you look at the stars and you are carried away so far that your very existence seems negligible against the backdrop of the universe. Especially when you hear this. As if the voices are not people, but the stars themselves in the arms of eternal emptiness. I don't believe in gods, but such beautiful music makes me look up into the sky and imagine green gardens and the clearest sea not far from the coast. The scent of flowers and the warm night before the scarlet dawn. Hope lives in my heart and I believe that my life is just beginning. The darkest hour is before dawn. It is a pity that I cannot convey this feeling as a piece of my thoughts. Words cannot describe it.

This video is literally my go to shit, I don't listen to anything else. It's so calming and relaxing, I put this on when I'm doing homework or doing some writing, this is literally so good.

The term dark age was invented years after by philosophers who wanted to demonise that era of history because it goes against their worldview. It's also a buzz word used by anti religious types and the like.

I actually think they're called the Dark Ages because there isn't a whole lot of information from that period. But that's what I learned, I could be wrong. Either way, I don't think reverting back to the old ways of Christianity would do any good. This playlist reminds me of the otherworldy shadows and glowing orbs I used to see in my room at night when I was little. I wasn't afraid. I was mesmerized and mystified. They didn't feel evil or dangerous. The countryside house was built in a neighborhood near a cemetery, but it wasn't creepy like you'd expect. It felt more peaceful, especially when the moonlight touched the glass on the door. Thank you for reminding me.

I do actually workout to this (and similar dungeon synth) on a hill in a small wood. There´s a calisthenics park. I tend to go at midnight. Hella cool alone under the stars
