Darius is going to go down in history as one of the great one
such an underrated artist. beautiful song, touching lyrics, what a beautiful man.
Dang, Darius. I don't believe I've ever heard anyone address the ordinary lives of the common man in more profound and meaningful terms than you. You just sound like somebody a person would want to be friends with. That's the best compliment I can give, and it is from the heart. Thank you and salute from Texas.
I love his voice. So glad you sang💙💙

We're not just happy, we are grateful beyond words. Country music needed racial barriers broken down and he is among those doing it. Charlie Pride, Jimmie Allen, Kane Brown and others making it happen. Why ju say that
Darius Rucker has the best soulful voice of my generation (I'm 65 so no mean feat) keep taking us there Darious
Gave me chills. Love his voice. I was a big fan of Hootie & The Blowfish.
So glad to see a man representing the black community in a positive way
I needed to find the most amazing singer-song writer of this generation; so you sang. Thank you for this beautiful gift, Darius.
Darius Rucker has been a staple of talent since Hootie and the Blowfish.
Thank goodness for KZread because the radio stations in my area hardly ever play Darius music (even when I call in and request) but then when they do they tend to play the same o'l 'Rock Me' song.
He belongs in the hall of fame
His VOICE! 😛 The timber of his voice, articulation and expression are ALWAYS spot on! A very underated artist!

Not since John Denver, has a singer told a story so honestly. Thank you!
You can tell this comes from such an honest and vulnerable place. LOVE.

Saw him last night in concert, this song was so moving... My husband streamed tears and that's a very rare occasion!! Fantastic artist!
It's comforting to hear good music amidst all the junk out there.
This has to be the most real heartfelt and beautiful song I have ever heard. I cried. the "hold her hand " part killed me. Refrence from Hootie.

I almost don't want to comment to show how speechless this song leaves me. I have been a fan for some time now, as well as hootie and the blowfish. You can see the emotions in his eyes and the gestures that he makes during the video. You can hear the conviction in his voice. This has been an instant favorite. Thank you Mr. Rucker and the two musicians that played the guitars in the video/recording.
You may not have been good at baseball but many of us are grateful for your shortcomings. What you were left with helps us understand and feel better about ours.
I am a 59 year old underground miner.....Darius makes me cry....
Crying like a fugging baby...Darius you're killing me man. Always my favourite since the Hootie days..I treasure my signed copy of your first country album. All the best.
You sir have the heart and soul of music inside you. Everything you sing takes me back. Thank you so much.
I also know I wont be anything big in this world but I hope to do something great with my life just like this man.
Well now, this dude is a FIND! Darius Rucker's voice is so smooth, so pure. I get goose bumps when a voice and song are right. Whoa. This guy is goosebumps and So I Sang has to give anyone a lump in their throat. MORE MORE MORE!!
sometimes the universe gives with both hands, that is him
He has a soothing voice that calms me but also revives me ..God bless this man
I never in my entire life thought that black man can sing country. Then I found Darius and it changed..

Man what a powerful song. If this one doesn't make you tear up you aren't human. His best stuff is with his mom in it.
Drivin your corvette on a side rode somewhere between calimesa and beaumont...seen a gal walkin in the middle of no where and you took a second look....that was me. Prayin in the wind...heat... Yeh i knew who you were. Now you know me....
The song that gets me is "It won't be like this for long" My daughter is 30 and married and has a family of her own. This song still gets to me

I sang at my Grandmothers funeral "Elvis's In The Ghetto" and with my heart broke, I found solace knowing she was smiling down at me the whole time because I was singing her favorite song. Every time I get on stage I just think about her and I know she's listing to every word. I have always said "Country Music" is the "Poor Man's Poetry" just listen to these words and it will bring up some old memories of a moment in your life that you missed.
So you sang and we are truly tuned to your fine tunes 🎸🎸🎸🎸
This man can sing. what a voice!!! so blessed!!@
I just happened to Darius songs, the Country music community is blessed to have such a voice, Darius is just amazing

Darius and Rod Stewart THE BEST Male voices EVER..Just so moving and warm and rich...There ISNT a song they do that sounds bad...Love it..
Darius, I think you remember my husband, Coach Reese, from Middleton. I just wanted to tell you how much this song touched my heart, not only because of the personal experiences you expressed, but because it made me think of my cousin David Reuter. He was painfully shy growing up, but found his voice learning to play the guitar and writing songs. I'd love to share a couple of them with you some time, as the Lord called him home much too soon to suit me. I shared one of them on KZread recently, "The Reason I Come." Listen if if have a chance. Of course, he sang it a lot better than I did, and I'd be glad to send you his recording if you'd like. Thank you again for this touching song.

What a beautiful story!
An astonishing song. There should be dictionaries where this song is the definition of the word "Beautiful". I cannot stop listening to this song...only temporarily doing so to listen to this genius's other songs. Why doesn't the world know what a great singer and songwriter this man is?
I was at the Toronto Darius Rucker concert last night and it was an absolute shock to me...I knew a few older songs and a few new ones but I had no idea of the amazing energy and performance that he puts on. I became a true fan last night and would like to say thank you for the great show, I will remember it for years.
Would give my right arm, to have the guitar-track from that recording, so I could make a sing-along-version for KZread. Need to sing this daily..lol.. :D
At my dad's funeral, there were so many things that I wanted to say but I didn't know what words to speak -- I found a song that said it better. So, I sang.

What a powerful song. The part about "No one believed in me as much as mom..." reminds me of my situation. My mom worked hard to buy me my first guitar. She died a couple of months ago and instead of speaking about her at her funeral, I sang a song that I wrote for her.

Darius has always been one of my favorite singers from the days when Hootie opened for local bands and there were ten of us in the crowd. His heart rolls with each word. Cant help but love his artistry.
Just cant get through this song without relating to it.What a career he has had.
I heard this song for the first time this morning from my Choir teacher and now I have it on repeat. I have to say this song hit home. I have listened to every song you have made, and I am impressed by the up come you have made. 💜 I love this song by the way. ✊

A true song from the heart.
The feeling he expresses while singing just makes his songs even better than they already are! One of the most beautiful male voices ever ! ❤❤
Great song, Darius I fully support you and what you do for the community.
Dear Darius (I'll always know you as Hootie), I am an old white guy in his 60's and you are one of my all time favorite artists (and that list is very short - right about now it's between you and Alan Jackson, Garth Brooks, Hank Williams and you). I really hope this song is an honest portrayal because it comes across as heartfelt and real. If it is, you really hit the top of the chart with me. It is so beautiful and I am not a real emotional sort of guy. God bless! if not, not so much, but still will always be a big fan.
