    I saw this film dance long time ago. I can't belive I found it¡¡¡¡ Thank you so so much¡¡¡ I never forgot this dance. I always remember the watusi people for this masterpiece. Never see again. And one of the thi gs that I always remember from this movie is the beatiful tallest dancer moving his head in a very beatiful way, with always a nice and sweet smile. This is a masterpiece of art❤❤💜💜💖💝

    MGM pulled out all the stops for this gorgeous film in 1950. Stewart Granger, Deborah Kerr King Solomon's Mines. As I recall (I was 9) a real chief of the Watusi or Masai played a supporting role. The animal sequenses were beautiful, too. By the time the remake happened, none of this existed.

    This is false. Most of those shorter people are actually batwa/Hutu. Tutsi aboriginals are lighter skin due to Arab admixture from long ago.

    I've seen the film of Steve McQueen dancing the Watusi with LBJ's 16 year old daughter on the campaign trail in '64. It didn't look anything like the dance in this video.

    You can't really tell from the movie but the average height of a Watusi woman is 1.83m (6 ft) while the average height of a man is almost 2.00m (6'6)

    @@josephrurangwa3109 Wow, poor Tutsis you are now manipulated and brainwashed to deny your ancestors who were Cushitic and closely related to Masai people. Hutus and Tutsis are two different ethnic groups, although many mixed with each other. That is today proven by genetic testing. However, I understand the Trauma of you Tutsis since 90% of the Tutsis in the Hutu and Tutsi war were killed. You are now afraid of the Hutus.

    Dance after battle. This white grass on head represent lion's force. They wear it to show that they are strong like lions. I m rwandese I know it well

    The dance was meant for the king, not ‘the ladies’. It symbolizes bravery in battle.

    Yo vi esta película cuando niña, se llamaba "El rey de los Watusis" el príncipe iba a matar un león para demostrar su hombría, eso es lo que recuerdo, verdad??? Tú sabes el cine yanki da para mucho, bueno según comentarios era la tribu más alta de África midiendo en aquella época 2,5 metros de altura, se hicieron famosos por la altura, BENDICIONES PARA TI Y TODOS LOS TUYOS TAMBIÉN !!!
