Dannysound MM VCA // Classic Moog style VCA in Eurorack

Музыка

*TIMING INDEX / SECTIONS* Here we have the Dannysound MM VCA which is a 6HP VCA with two internal VCAs for multiple modulation points based on the classic Moog Minimoog Model D. The MM VCA offers soft clip saturation and wave shaping of the inputs boosting the fundamental and warming the low end while either adding harmonics to simple tones or removing harmonics from complex ones. This VCA is great for AM synthesis and I take the time to fully explore that in the video. Skip around with the index before and I hope you get some ideas for ways to use VCAs around your system.

Damn. I need to build all of their modules. I need to just accept it and get on with it. It's inevitable. Great patches.

Sometimes I wish I could just completely start over in eurorack and go all Dannysound. Love the look and sound so much. But they only had one module when I began, so... 🤷‍♂️

Very very classic of moog. Sounds very much like how the cp 3 mixer clips nicely. Thanks for share D.K. well presented.

EuroMoog -> instantly thinking of AJH. So how does this compare to the DH-ADSR? Not looking for one is better than the other, but thoughts on features, use cases, haptics, value ranges covered. So if one covers certain grounds the other doesn´t and vice versa. Maybe an envelope shootout? I´m just getting started in Euroland, and there is just too many choices. Guidance and overview much appreciated.

so the 2 inputs just get mixed? interesting design choice, but looks useful

I think that the first stage feeds the second, the input goes through the first VCA (pre amp), then through the second (main amp). I don't have one so I can't tell you for sure

Wait at 20seconds it looks like there is color in your mordax data in xy mode??!

Hey Ben, i just ordered 2 Looping ADSR and a MM VCA from Dannysound by Thonk. But i have a question. How did you patched the Output of the EN 129 to make it Velocity like. Is there another VCA before you get in the MM VCA. Might be a stupid question,. I'm sorry. But i really like the behavior of the bass.

Hello, no stupid questions just stupid answers :) So the ADSR from Dannysound can be dynamic and working with velocity by itself. As it has an input to modulate the level of the envelope. So patch the EN129 into the VCA input and then patch the envelope into the CV input on the VCA. Now as well as using sequences to control the oscillator and gate the envelope you can use a sequence to the level input on the envelope. Hope that helps.

Is that right LED supposed to be on all the time. Lol. I built one last week and have been flummoxed.
