I've probably watched this about 100 times now. sometimes for entertainment other times to study and learn the guitar parts; so I figured it was time to comment. Wow. Absolutely killer set and a perfect mix. Is anyone else totally obsessed with this?

Golden Mile is so big! I've discovered this song here several years ago. Never lost its beauty - so deep & great chords. Sadly the string on his 12string broke after that track.
Rossen is a monster: even his unreleased songs are far beyond what many another artist would release proudly. And that last, unnamed song is maybe the most powerful...

Dan always stands out in my mind as THE MUSICIAN I wish I could tell how much his art has improved my life. I will occasionally find myself tripping on the idea that the people who’ve made the music I love, aren’t making enough off their art to survive. Dan is always at the top of that list. Like, if Dan isn’t making a living from this, then the world is just fucked. It’s a genuine feeling that consumes me at times.

Truly, I concur--the fact such visceral phonic beauty can be crushed in the folds of a world wrought with so much despair and pain is discouraging, suffice to say. However ironically, I find the best remedy to this feeling time and time again is his music. A testament to his perseverance and quality as an artist in that he still creates increasingly beautiful music. Cold comfort maybe, but enough.
Damn, I mean if people had respect for folk musicians now like they did for folk singers back in the day Daniel Rossen would be well known.
This man's guitar work is soo underrated... Beautiful. Can't wait for the new grizzly bear.

I luv all the g bear guys but rossen is the reason i listen to them!
He’s still in another musical galaxy some of us wish we could touch, let alone comprehend writing masterpiece songs like that, the amount pure love and gentleness in his voice, the ups and downs of his guitar and the originality of his chords/sound. What a legend of a song writer. It’s bloody amazing, he out of anyone might like to know we’re still listening and love it.
I was completely entranced by his performance. I see a passion in his music that I don't see in other artists music. And it's so genuine and heartfelt. He's really a treasure.
The first songs guitar is.... immaculate. I got the same goosebumps as I did when I first heard the veckatimest (?) opener southern point. Total beast on the acoustic god bless

So much joy in this music that it’s sad. This guy has got the glow.
I'm an older guyy - 63. Haven't seen this kind of talent in a long while. Tnx.
I’m so glad that this video exists. I don’t know how many times I’ve played it. I don’t even know how this radio host remained so calm, especially as a fan, she had a private show to herself practically. I probably would have lost all ability to function.

Same here. I would be absolutely dumbstruck in the company of him. He's the biggest inspiration for my own music. Would never have the same love of music if it weren't for him and Grizzly Bear.
Saw him live around that time in Philly, about 20 feet away. Thanked him for everything he did after the show. Great musician and a gentleman.

At this point I really consider this to be a legendary performance. Honestly one of the best offerings to folk and alt rock I've heard yet.
In "Untitled", it's practically impossible to guess what chord comes after the other. Most songs have a pattern to follow in the musical scale. Daniel does the opposite. That's genius

i hope more people come to appreciate this man's music. the Silent Hour/Golden Mile EP is fantastic. it would be awesome to see these songs played with full band because the arrangements are so beautiful. ...and the voice could have used a little reverb or delay here.
I love this version of Golden Mile
The quantity of beauty here is so moving to me..I come back as much as I can
SO talented, seems like whoever he chooses to make music with, himself or with others, he absolutely blows it away. Amazing.
That last song is incredible, to discard it would be a travesty.
I can never get enough of his voice. I love when I'm at work (like now) and locate tunes from the likes of Daniel and just get swept away.
