most child actors who consciously make the decision to become actors as children do end up quite successful both career-wise and mentally. when kids are forced into the industry by parents who are taken advantage of by agents who tell them their kid could be a star, they tend to end up looking at their child as a business rather than a dependent.

Based on what I know about Harry Potter, this entire interview is hilarious because Harry Potter wasn’t very good at handling his fame either. So the guy that played our film version of Harry Potter being genuine and humble and avoiding social media is so fitting because the fictional character would probably have behaved the same way

Funny. When people think humility their feeling says it's someone looking at the ground all the time, taking small steps, not crossing their legs aka taking as little space as possible. One of the definitions is not to to be more than you are. When you know something, wait for your turn to speak and say it, when you don't know something, don't pretend to know it. So yeah, he seems pretty extravert to me, but he's definitely humble. I am sorry for this long response you never asked for, to a question you didn't ask. I am pretty humble, this just got my mind going. :)

It’s crazy, that he’s only in his 30s. Just another reminder how young he was, when he played Harry Potter. He seems like an amazing person. Very down to earth, very nice and friendly. Glad, he managed being famous so greatly. I can only imagine how stressful it must’ve been sometimes…

Gosh I love his accent (all the time but) when he answers the why did he quit question. The way he laughs and how he says "Harry Potter" is FANTASTIC.

Growing up with HP it’s nice to see Daniel become so humble and kind despite his fame. When he thanked Olivia, it shows that he cares and acknowledge people around him. He also answers questions respectfully!

I love that he embraces Harry Potter, usually actors who have been in stuff like that have ended up talking about how they hated it or pretending it never happened

It's so impressive to me that he can sit in front of a camera and talk about paparazzi calling a coffee shop he visited to ask about his order while sounding so casual and chill about it. I don't know what kind of a person I'd be if I spent my adolescence under the spotlight like this, but I doubt I'd ever come close to being as grounded and gracious as Daniel Radcliffe has been in every interview I've seen him in.

Seriously, people who indentify Daniel as "just Harry Potter" are missing out of this guy filmography.

Beans I was actually thinking it was asking who he supported politically. As for JKR, he stated that he disagreed with her, but never got any more vitriolic than that, which is a very admirable show of maturity on his part, I would say.

He knows he was one of THE most important characters in pop culture history and i love that he embraces that instead of having a big ego and being annoyed about his character being more important than his own name. That shows a lot of love for his craft and some massive respect for the character.

The Daniel and Elijah movie should be a remake of parent trap where they play the twins and don’t really look like each other but it’s never addressed, neither is the fact that they’re both adults fully allowed to go where they want. I dare say that no child actor aged as well as Daniel Radcliffe AND His career didn’t just vanish into obscure cameos after HP, he’s still an actual actor all about the craft and all that :) Some people might think it’s unfortunate that he’ll probably never escape the name “Harry Potter” but he doesn’t seem to mind that people enjoy and fondly remember his breakout role

I love how chill he seems, no social media, etc. But, honestly, he has such beautiful eyes! I mean, seriously, I was watching the whole thing, trying to pay attention, cause he seems smart and sweet and talented, but I kept getting lost, looking at his gorgeous eyes

I just adore him. He seems so genuine and kind and as normal as a person who became a huge star at the age of 11 could possibly be.

I love how he aswers questions about HP so respectfully. He must be so sick of talking about this but concidering it's a life time role he just accepts it and goes nwith it and that makes him so precious. @@8LyJu8 oh, absolutely agree. It's honestly amazing how practically all the Harry Potter actors ended up as pretty decent people that avoided getting in too much trouble (with the notable exception of the actor that played Crabbe)

I love that Maggie Smith suggested Daniel for the part of Harry, just like McGonagall suggests Harry should be the new Seeker. Can't wait for the anniversary reunion :)

British, English, or Australian people are just such calm people!! Like, their energy is just very chill!!!

Always the questions about the cast still being friends make me think about high school friends, but even more bonded. Like they went to school together, they went their own ways after that, but are still friends and check in on life events and things

Dan has always remained kind and self effacing. Brilliant.

I can see why the question about him quitting Potter riled him. Around the 4th-5th film there were a lot of rumours about whether the main trio would stick with the films or if they would be recast. They were not always treated that respectfully by the press/fans, and a lot of times it probably would have been easier to quit. The fact they committed to stay all the way to the 8th film was a big deal.

It's like a play. Kinda like now with virus time most things had to be done by video and others just listen in. Audiobooks etc. take so long and he talking without too much production making things just perfect sounds so nice.
