    The extra cards on the table are the results of what is called, "running it twice". In a cash game it is often quite common, especially in large pots, for the all-in players to agree to this practice. The number of cards on the table vary depending on when the all-in takes place. In this instance, the all-in calls were made prior to the flop. Running it twice, pre-flop, will result in 2 flops, 2 turns, and 2 river cards being dealt. If the all-in call had been made after the flop, the turn and river cards would have been dealt out twice, etc. The point in this action is to allow both players an opportunity to minimize their loss potential, for example; -if one player wins the first round, and the other player wins the second round, the pot will be chopped between them with neither one losing any money. -if one player wins both rounds, as Daniel did in this video, he wins the entire pot, just as if he had won the first one without,"running it twice". If both players agree, they can run it any number of times, but typically it is done twice, but occasionally they will "run it 3 times". This is done as a courtesy between the players in order to mitigate a large loss to either one.

    It’s also to reduce variance. You don’t want a huge pot being decided by chance. It adds more skill to be game. Yes it means that the player who has played better (and has the better hand when all in is called) has less chance of winning everything, but they have a much much much smaller chance of losing everything. Except in this video, where Dan has the King Six and hits an out in both runs, lol. That’s super rare, but of course if I didn’t happen it wouldn’t be in this video, so there is biased sampling.

I remember watching NBC Poker After Dark back in the day, they'd regularly have a rotation of Matusow, Laak, Ivey, Hellmuth, Esfandiari, Negreanu, Dwan, Doyle, and quite a few other fun characters in the game all egging each other on.

    That information was suggested to a degree. A lot of folds indicate trash hands. And an 8 can be a part of a trash hand. Which indicates that they may be out of circulation with folds. Which also increases the odds high cards, jacks, queens, kings, or aces may be more common in the remaining deck. Not a major thing. But light suggestions.

    That second hand might as well have been played online, if you're ahead preflop you'll get outdrawn and if you're hand is all-in preflop and behind you'll never catch up. I can't even count how frequently some donk shoves preflop with J3 vs AJ and he makes a flush with the 3 of hearts. So glad here in Canada casinos have finally reopened.

    Daniel is always joking, laughing and talking with the other players. He's my favorite player. I think he's won over $40 million lifetime. One thing he knows backwards and forwards is the odds in just about any situation. He is excellent at reading what you have by the way you are acting and betting. Almost everyone enjoys being around him so he keeps the mood upbeat and funny and everyone joins in. He is also excellent at reading tells. A guy taking his jacket off can be a tell. A guy looking down at his chips after looking at his cards is a tell. Daniel is always casually watching these things but it isn't obvious.

    He’s switched on. But not to the point tony details are always “tells” As Freud said. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. But what most of the top players know down, is strong game theory and stats. And they play so much they understand the meta language of what each bet means. It’s why amateurs can beat them sometimes. Amateurs in a way can play so bad, that they play good, because they kind of have no idea what they’re doing, and just playing on the fly, that it breaks the rhythm and runs counter intuitive to what are the standard “good moves”

    E.T. Since you mention Freuds quote maybe you're familiar with his famous question, " what do women want"? Ill tell you what women want even more than power and security, women simply want a handsome man, i dont mean a pretty good looking man or a kinda good looking man , mean a brutally handsome man, im old so ill put it this way, theyd rather live in a shack with Redford than a mansion with Kissinger.

    Why do they deal the 5 cards on the table twice?What kind of rule is that can someone explain?

  • @jacksonpuckett6115

    @jacksonpuckett6115

    5 жыл бұрын

    It isn't a rule, the players usually ask each other to "run it twice" or three, four, five times or whatever. That's what the extra cards are. By running it more than once, each run is different and the chips are distributed accordingly.

  • @jacksonpuckett6115

    @jacksonpuckett6115

    5 жыл бұрын

    It's basically increasing your odds of winning atleast some of the pot. For example: if they run it twice, which is what i saw them do earlier in this video, and one player wins the first run (first 5 cards) and the other player wins the next run (next 5 cards) then it will be a split pot.
