Daniel Kahneman | The Knowledge Project #68

Daniel Kahneman spent a lifetime studying how we make decisions. In his book Thinking Fast and Slow, he explained why we make poor decisions. In this in-depth interview, he goes even deeper, uncovering what we can do to make better decisions.

My son passed this interview on to me, and I was gobsmacked. A great discussion of several topics by Daniel Kahneman -- decision making, happiness, satisfaction, negotiation, a nod to Pascal, a dig at Ray Dalio, and much to do about intuition. At the end, I was singing the words to Paul Simon's song, Feeling Groovy. The learning goes on...

this is how podcasts should be ideally, no video feed just the audio so that the entire focus is on listening

Intuition is considered an instictive immediate coherent thought. Not sure, if you can delay it or even worse freeze it(?). Maybe what is to be expressed is to delay the judgement based on the intuition?

Kahneman say's if a person starts negotiation with an absurd number , make a scene and say that you wont start conversation with that number but further along the interview when he talks about slowing down and understanding the other party and find out how you can make it easy for them to move in your direction, both seem very contradictory points. Got me confused
