Фильм және анимация

Part 2 on the DD Delta 5 Pro LE/MIL. This installment focuses on specific features of the rifle, provides some explanation of the more notable ones, and includes some of my opinions regarding its use and applicability as a duty weapon for LE snipers. Special thanks to Chris Cooke, Western Territory Manager for the Daniel Defense MILE team for providing the rifle and insight into its creation.

If anyone is curious, both the Extended Rail and Folding Adaper is now available. However they are only offering 2 Standalone replacement barrels, a 20in 308 and 24in 6.5CM, they are supposed to be releasing more according to a phone call I had but they are not out as of now.

Hammer forging is capable of producing barrels at least as good as, and often better than single point cut rifle barrels. The problem, historically, is that the process was used for the most part by manufacturers who were solely focused on churning out mass quantities of barrels very quickly and maximizing cost savings. Just like with cut rifle barrels, if you put in the time and effort to dial in the process and establish and maintain critical quality standards, you can easily forge a 'match grade' barrel.

That top rail makes that rifle. That would be the only way I’d buy it.

The IPA makes it useable for why I use it and I completely agree with you. Super happy they added this accessory to the lineup. Waiting on a few more mods/upgrades and it’ll pretty much check every box. Thanks for taking a look. 🥃

@@deaddriftconsulting2434 Nice, so in like 2 to 3 months from now. That rail makes the gun whole in my opinion. Any idea what they will sell for?

@@AN03COBRA I don’t have pricing info so I hesitate to comment on that but I agree that this accessory makes the rifle a hell of a lot more useful. Bear in mind that the D5P was designed with one of its primary intended purposes being competitive shooting. So the cut out on the top side of the handguard was meant to accommodate large objective optics (>50mm). The full arca rail and barricade stop also point to this purpose. But for actual tactical use, which is what I’ve done for over 20yrs, the full rail on top is critical and the arca compatibility is merely nice to have as an option. This rifle is not quite even a teenager in the world of tactical use (or maybe even varmint hunting). I’d imagine there will be some significant improvements in its future. 🥃

Thank you for your service sir. Thank you also for sharing your wealth of information and experience. I appreciate you. By the way I have a PA Apollo ACSS 6-30X56 FFP 6.5 CM retical. What DD Delta 5 Pro barrel length would work best with this scope ? 18" ? 24" ? or 26" Or would it matter ? I just want to pick off golf balls as far as I possibly can.

Cold hammer forged steel is much stiffer and stronger than machined steel, of the same dimensions. It also resists thermal drift. Hot hammer forging is a cheaper process that would result in softer, less desirable barrels. Chrome lining improves durability, helps if the barrel is going to get used a lot.

Thanks so much for your comment, bro. Stoked that you found it useful and relevant to what you’re doing. There are many great slings out there and I’ve used a bunch of them over the years but the one I’ve been running for the past 4 or so years has been the Enhanced SS Loophole sling from Hogsaddle. It does everything I need a sling to do and works great on a carbine also. Josh is a personal friend and I’ve been using many of his products for a very long time. It’s no BS gear backed by a real dude who’s done it. And it won’t break the bank. Thanks again for taking the time. Enjoy that rifle! 🥃
