The Delta 5 Pro from Daniel Defense is one of the more interesting chassis rifles I've had the pleasure to shoot.

I have a DD Delta 5 in 308. With handloads the rifle shoots consistent quarter inch groups. I'm very happy with the rifle.

@Mark Tse it’s cold hammer forged. I hear your point but this rifles performs way better than an off the shelf rifle. Fouling is light at best. Nothing serious. I did lap the barrel with JB bore bright

Great review! Would you happen to know where to find that folding hinge that you mentioned?
I love Daniel Defense! Where the company started, to now, is an amazing story. And it's even better when you see all the amazing things they make.
Sir, you did an absolutely terrific job going over the entire rifle. Thank you - much appreciated!
the first and second shot in to the same hole!, and the third almost exactly!!! Great explanation as always.
I have the original Delta 5 in 6.5 creedmoor and boy is it consistent. It will consistently shoot a 1/4 inch or less at 100 yards, if I do my job. Daniel Defense did very good on this one.
mine is the most consistently accurate rifle I own; period. Review is up on my channel.

Great video feature to cut and show shot & impact in once, thanks Tim.
The barrel replacement feature is really cool.
Run it with the hellfire brake and a suppressor with a hellfire mount and I think you’ll be impressed with the ease of use, repeatability and cross platform compatibility.
Great video!!!
Thanks for another great review!
thank you tim for the video!!! i like the daniel defense delta 5 pro. that is a cool looking gun tim. keep up the great work!!

have you gotten yours? would you recommend it? looking at getting an aero solis or this and i’m torn.
"Federal Premium Gold Medal Match" comes with a Berger 130gr Hybrid.
With no technical aptitude I assembled a big horn action with a patriot valley barrel, trigger tech trigger and a bravo stock. It shoots between 1/4 and 3/5 MOA at all times. I was surprised at how easy the process was, much easier than "building" my first AR. I'm surprised this route isn't as popular. So I'm unimpressed by RPRs, bergara's, and these DD price tags. I understand this wasn't always possible but progress is progress.
@actionjksn

I've never heard of doing this but I've built AR-15s. Can you give me some more details about this? This sounds very interesting and how much did it cost you?
@zgennaro
3 жыл бұрын
@@actionjksn Certain actions, such as big horn or AI and others have tight enough tolerances such that a barrel maker can make a perfect fit barrel without needing the chamber. You technically don't even need headspace gauges but I bought some anyway. Maybe $1800 completed. The DD isn't that bad of a price really as the chassis is pretty expensive. Of course the RPR has lots of barrel options as well but the action isn't nearly as nice as big horn origin or tl3.
@zgennaro

I also used a barrel vise and an action wrench.
I would absolutely love to own one of these
That was some nice shot grouping & you make it look easy, lol. Ultimately it takes more than a great gun to shoot Great, it's a combo of a shooter's skill, the quality of the gun & minimally decent ammo to make those shots. Great shooting & a Great video! THX from TX!

If I ever get out west again to hunt them, I will definitely bring the Delta 5 Pro. Thank you for watching!
Cool, something I can buy (well at least most of it) in California.
I guess I will say something the weight of the rifle makes it stand out, it comes in three calibers and a quick change barrel it's a breeze, and no need to change the head spacing
Finally something you review that I can own in Australia oh wait damn pistol grip gotta check on that
That's a beautiful rifle! You should come take a caribou with it. My bergara hmr shoots .5 moa but seems to be more Ammunition picky as far as accuracy. Mine likes barnes 127gr lrx. I'm convinced that the lrx is the best hunting bullet out there. Godspeed
Helping hand
I haven’t been getting notifications from you, garand thumb, trex arms and other gun channels.
nice rifle!
How well do you think this rifle in 308 will perform? I have several 308 guns and would like to stick with that ammo if possible..
This thing is a laser! It’s just unreal
I wonder what do you think about the M1A 16 SOCOM CQB in .308 ! Pretty impressive rifle and no one talk about it!
It's a bit out of my price range but I think it's totally worth it. if I were buying a $2,500 bolt action there's a good chance this would be the one I chose. I don't know what a Barrett costs but that would probably my first choice with an unlimited budget. I am building a 6.5 Grendel on the AR platform and I'm spending quite a bit on that but at least I can spread the costs out when I build it myself.
Great rifle
Nice looking gun.
For a grand less I'm happy with my RPR, but noticing these after the purchase did make me second guess for a minute.
Are you going to do a video about the scope? Maybe I'm not paying attention, but I don't remember seeing you run an Athlon in the past.

Are you familiar with the MPA BA PMR Pro Rifle ? If so how would you rate these 2 against each other .
FNH 338 the best damn rifle you will ever see on the market I got mine back in 2016 I bought the whole package 300 win mag and 308 barrel it is super pricey but man I have taken that thing out pass a little over 1,400 yd it will go further but I'm not that good yet.
Comparing this with Tikka T3x tac, Oryx, Sig saucer Cross, which is better?
Love to see the sig cross
Awesome
Have you or do you have any plans to review the Tikka T3 Tac A1 and possibly compare it to the DD Delta pro 5?
Does the chassis only come in coyote colour Plus how difficult is it to have your black/dark grey scope altered to coyote
Nice kit, be nice to see the distance pushed out to beyond 300.

I reached out to DD about the hinge and there isn’t one available. They said not until the end of next year....
My tikka t3x tac a1 in 6.5 shoots anywhere from .25 to .5 at 100 yards.I've had tikkas for a long time and swear by them.Amazing triggers!.You have to shoot one to know what I mean.I have had my eye on the delta pro also for a while.I heard at one point there were some quality control issues with delta 5 pro? It was the reason I didn't get one.I heard this from enough people.Any ideas?

Oddly enough, I just seen one of these this weekend. I had saved enough to purchase a sig cross(?!) then seen it’s not all that “precision”. Heard of these. Looked for one for months. Just found one at $2499. But hopefully it’s a better “precision” choice.
Hi! Delta 5 pro trigger compatible with Remington 700 triggers?

What bipod do you prefer for the delta 5 pro?
I put my Bergara HMR pro in a MDT chassis. For the same level of accuracy, this may be a slightly cheaper endeavor than the path I took lol. How’s that bolt though? Is the DD as smooth/smoother than the Bergara?
@Militaryarmschannel
3 жыл бұрын
I would say the Bergara has a noticeably smoother action. I would not be sad if my only bolt gun was my Bergara B14 Wilderness. Well, I would be sad, but it's still a great rifle. Thanks for watching.
Well, I WAS subscribed. I am now
DD has a reputation for superb QC, but I can’t help but wonder if you were to buy a replacement barrel say 5 years after the rifle, are you going to get the same fit and performance as your original? I’m not a machinist but I’m assuming that there is a reason my gunsmith charges me $350 to fit a new barrel and lap the lugs,(includes chambering). Add 400 for a new Bart lien and I have a new top notch rig. Vs $600 for a DD replacement. Think I’ll stick with my remis and mausers. But she is pretty.........
